Saizo (SLBP PART 1)

Chapter Twenty-Four

Saizo's P.O.V.:

It's been a week since I last saw my girl...

I promised her I'll try to stay safe...

But I kept mum when she forced me to promise to come back to her...

I simply can't give her my word because I can't guarantee it...

I wore my ninja gear and put on my fox mask as I began my mission...

Saizo's job was to lure his opponents out... The Daimyos made it known that they'll be in Kyoto and hired Saizo as their bodyguard.. Of course the second part was a hush-hush issue...

Saizo hid in the shadows as the four Daimyos slept in a chamber... He positioned himself in the ceiling so he has a close watch on them...

It was after midnight already but the mysterious ninjas have yet to show up... Saizo was getting bored when a kunai was pressed onto his throat from behind...

"Never thought I'll get to meet the legendary Kirigakure Saizo in action..." a boyish voice, which sounded muffled, spoke.

Saizo tried to move but apparently this young ninja is an experienced one.

"Ah-ah... Every little nerve you move, I can feel it. So I suggest you stop planning tricks up your sleeves..." he chuckled, pressing his kunai harder into Saizo's jugular...

Saizo immediately elbowed the boy hard, using his other hand to grip the boy's wrist and whirled around to face his enemy.

The boy was wearing a fox mask with black markings, unlike his which is a fox mask but with red patterns instead...

"Guess I underestimated you huh..." the boy wheezed out as he tried to regain his composure. "I don't wanna hurt you so will you just let me do my job and we call it quits then?"

Saizo just remained silent, staring at him.

"Well if you're not gonna answer me then you leave me no choice..." the boy's eyes smirked, releasing his kunai which actually has a bomb tag attached to it..

A small explosion followed after and the smoke caused a distraction, allowing the boy to disappear into the shadows.

Next thing Saizo heard were the sounds of slashing below him.

"Huh?!?" the boy's exclamations were heard when he realised the sleeping Daimyos were just bolsters covered with blankets..

Saizo moved in a black and silver blur, kicking the boy down.

But the boy managed to counter Saizo's kick with a kick of his own and he leapt away.

"Fast reflexes you have there kid." Saizo complimented.

"Thanks. It's an honour to be praised by Kirigakure Saizo himself but that doesn't mean I will let my guard down! Now where are the Daimyos?! What trickery is this?!?"

Saizo shrugged.

"Don't know."

"Wha-?!? Do you take me for a fool?! Luring me out with a stupid bait like this?!?"

"Well obviously you fell for it."

The boy narrowed his eyes as he rushed for Saizo, taking out his sword and began fighting the silver haired ninja in a tight battle.

Saizo sighed as he realised he can read the boy's sword movements...

"Just hear me out!" the boy pleaded as he fought Saizo off with his sword. "I really don't wanna fight you!"

He decided to end this game and slashed the boy's throat clean, rendering him unable to even utter his last word as the boy's lifeless body dropped to the ground..

"Now... I wonder why the Daimyos said I was up against a strong one..." Saizo sighed as he breathed in the sickening stench of blood...

He was glad that he wore his fox mask so that none of the blood got onto his face...
