Chapter 14 - Lifting Fog

Hey guys sorry for the wait I wanted to get back onto a weekendly update schedule.

I was woken up by Demetria leaping from the bed, Saber moved to stand over me growling ears and lips drawn back. I noticed Tres was standing in the doorway, he and Demetria were argueing. It was difficult for me to understand what they were saying over the loud growl Saber was continuously emitting. Although I believe they were fighting over: if Amethyst from Amber group should be allowed into char territory and Demetria's den. The name sounded familiar, I vaguely remember Demetria  mentioning that name while I was being rescued from Blood Clan. Demetria finally nodded to Tres and he walked away. Saber jumped from the bed causing pain to spread over every inch of my skin. Saber paced the room sniffing, Demetria walked over to me and said "Amethyst the leader of Amber Group is coming to see you, I have yet to know why. Amber group is however partially responsible for your rescue." She paused then continued "I am going to get you something to eat, hopefully you finish eating before she arrives." Demetria walked out of the room, but only to return a few minutes later holding a small bowl, with what I assumed was soup. I weakly took the bowl and began eating. Demetria stated "Your bandages need changing their almost soaked completely through with blood, and I'm hoping the infection has cleared." The door opened minutes later to reveal Tres, three other vampires I didn't recognize, the female infront said "Demetria, my sister it is good to see you have recovered." I wonder if all the leaders are brother and sister, or maybe if Demetria's family is the most powerful. Since Fang, Demetria and Amethyst are related and thats only who I know about, who else could she be related to? Demetria's eyes started to glow as she stated "Enough with the pleasantries Amethyst, why did you insist upon coming here." The female who I guessed was Amethyst stepped into the room a blank unfazed expression on her face. Demetria stated "Leave us," and the other unrecognizable vampires in the doorway left closing the door behind them. Amethyst then finally replied "I wanted to see if the prophecy I helped you rescue was recovering, I may be your group's enemy Demetria, but I do not wish the prophecy to go unfulfilled." Demeria dipped her head and locked eyes with me. Saber was still looming over me now silently snarling, he flashed his teeth at the stranger. Demetria said "The human is recovering well considering the injuries Blood clan inflicted upon her." Amethyst nodded and said "I see, am I permitted to speak to her, I know how territorial you are, and I do not want a fight Demetria." Demetria growled and balled her hands into fists before turning to me she said "Fine, no speaking of the prophecy. Do I make myself clear?"

Amethyst dipped her head and walked over to my bedside, Saber leapt down and padded to Demetria's side. She glanced down at him as he sat down ears back snarling at her side, she then crossed her arms and glanced back up at me. Amethyst placed her hand on my forehead and I suddenly felt the never ebbing torturous pain flare up to the point it became past the point of unbearable. Demetria rushed over and ripped Amethyst away, I gasped trying to understand what had just happened. I closed my eyes as the pain only seemed to intensify, I gritted my teeth whimpering at the unimaginable, unlabeled pain which only seemed to grow. Demetria let out a indescribable sound and I heard a thump as she had collapsed to the ground. She spat "What have you done!" I forced my eyes open and struggled to keep them open as my pain only worsened. Amethyst crouched down and placed a hand on Demetria's shoulder before she replied "You know my gifts Demetria what do you think I've done." I watched helpless as Demetria struggled to reach up and grab the collar of her sisters clothes. She pulled her face to face and growled "Reverse it. Now! You will not use your magic on her, all magic has a price Amethyst. With her who knows what that will be." Amethyst stood up and walked over to me and placed a hand on my forehead. I let out a cry of pure agony, before blacking out.

I woke up to Cinder padding a damp cloth on my forehead. I tried to pull myself to sit up but she pushed me back down. I winced and accepted defeat, then a thought struck me Demetria, she was collapsed, writhing on the floor when I blacked out. Pain flared up as I shout up stating "what happened t-." I was cut off as Demetria walked into the room stating "I'm fine, it's you, you should be concerned for, do you feel any different?" I closed my eyes and replied "No?" She huffed and snarled "Think harder! Do you feel any different." Cinder turned to Demetria and said "She is the same as she has been, Amethyst was able to reverse...it, in time." It, what does it mean, what are they hiding from me? I replied "I feel..." What did I feel? I guess I felt like what I've grown to call my traumatized self as normal. I continued "normal..." Cinder stated "While you were unconscious, your bandages were changed and your wounds have been washed." Demetria said "Leave us." Cinder nodded leaving the rag behind as she walked out of the room. Demetria walked over, she picked up the rag from the bed and dabbed it on my forehead the same way Ciner had. I accepted that she was going to care for me either way and it was probably better if I didn't fight her. She stated "Amethyst tried to use the bond to heal your wounds by the transfer of energy from I to you." She spoke emotionless, I tried to wrap my head around everything and eventually replied "I guess that was nice of her...in a way..." Demetria's eyes glowed bright red and a furious expression had grown on her face.

She growled "It was a ludicrous decision, she knows how dangerous energy transfer is to begin with, and to try to heal you through it was...." She backed away gritting her teeth as her fangs descended slightly. Her fangs didn't even poked past her lips, but the slight bumps that formed underneath her lips had given them away. She finished her statement and said "Absurd and outrageously, irritating," letting out a loud angered growl. I gulped fearful of the amount of pure rage that was emanating off of her. She took a deep breath, she breathed out a huff before she composed herself. She said "I apologize, when it comes to you...I just...I find that...I get frustrated, concerned easily...It's just something about the bond...or.....I'm not sure entirely." I had creased my brow in confusion at her statement. I shook my head slightly to clear it.+ I was beginning to feel better, more aware, more energized. It probably had to do with the second cleansing of my wounds, that or I'm finally putting some meat back on my bones. Demetria said "I, and specifically selected others, will start to train you to get into touch with the buried part of you that is vampirian. You should rest, Amethyst is no longer here, I dragged her back to Amber group. You are safe, for now, I will bring you something to eat and drink soon. Earlier I neglected to mention; Moore took your dog out to Rapture Meadow while you were unconscious they are both still there, they should return soon. If not I will send someone to bring them back, I know how much you love your mutt, and I wouldn't want you both to be separated willingly for too long..." With that she took the rag and left the room, taking her time to close the door lightly instead of slamming it as usual. That was strange, How odd she had acted? I wonder why she's being so compassionate? And Training so soon, I'm not sure I'm up for that...at all.
