"Germany! Come see what I made!!"

The older man grouchily agreed, not showing how happy he was to spend more time with Italy. 

" You svent the last vive vinutes messing everything up, Italy."

Undeterred by his comment, the Italian beamed proudly and showed him his creation.

More. Stupid. White. Surrender. Flags.

Germany mentally facepalmed and yelled," You told me you'd make something better!!!"

"But-"

"No buts!" Germany reprimanded him harshly." Training starts tommorow at 5 am. Be there on time."

Italy frowned and walked away, and Germany wondered if he'd gone too far. He shrugged and headed toward his bedroom. A queer note was on his bed. In formal writing, it wrote:

                               *Japan here. Meet me under the Weeping willow tree at the pond.*

He decided he had nothing better to do and walked out, careful not to wake the sleeping man snoring inside the other room. Italy couldn't get in that much trouble. Besides, their guard dogs, Gilan, Halt, Alyss, and Will, were experts at their job. Nothing could come in without getting noticed.

The white-clad man was sitting cross-legged under one of the branches. Germany walked up and irritably asked," What is is, Japan?"

Japan beckoned him to sit down." You are going too hard on Italy.  Do not think I have not noticed your exchange with Italia-kun, Germany, because I have. How about I suggest a compromise."

Germany said,"Go on."

"We get there at 6:30 in the morning, but we do an extra lap for the weekly mile run. How about that? This way, we won't be deprived of our sleep and still do good on our training."

Germany pondered the negotiation. An extra lap....6:30 in the morning. Sounded fair enough.

"Okay, I'll do it."

"Excellent. See you tommorow, Germany."

Italy wasn't asleep yet, instead idly fondling Will's ears. The dog usually slept with him when the other dogs were guarding. A noise of content came from his throat, and Italy vaguely smiled.

Was Germany really that disappointed in him? He was only trying to help. Seems like all that he was doing was annoying the living cr*p out of Germany. 

A tear trickled down his cheek, but he was too discouraged to wipe it away.

A loud knock sounded on his door, and he hurriedly wiped it away, adrenaline coursing though him. Only one person could knock that loud.

It was Germany.

"Listen, Italy, I now know that I was being too hard on you, and I just wanted to say 2 things.

First, I'm sorry."

Italy stared at him in surprise. It wasn't like him to apologize.

"And second, I..."

Italy waved him on, curious.

"I love you."

Before Italy could respond, he stepped up and pulled him into a short kiss.

"Aww, Germany. Thank you so much."

"I love you too."

They both laughed and hugged affectionately.

Japan chuckled, staring thought he window panes, knowing his plan had worked perfectly.
