As he was walking down the street, England could smell the aroma of the bread.
He could smell it.
But he couldn't see the rich brown-golden color of it.
All he saw was...
Black and white.
[[[[[[[[He walked up a tall tower, intent on enjoying the cool crisp air of morning. Even if the sun was not bright.
From up here, he could see the huge city below him, and suddenly felt nostalgic for something he'd never known before.
He loved this tower. This was the tower that his mum found her soulmate in. His father.
A jumble of footsteps fell behind him, and he turned around in surprise.
And everything flooded with color.

Putting his hands on the guardrail to steady his shaking body, he frantically tried to calm himself down.
After reaching a moderately calm point, he reached down and pulled up the person who had involuntarily tripped.
He had shoulder length blond hair, and rose pinned on his blue coat. His blue eyes sparkled with mischief, and in his hands were a red rose.
England's face considerably darkened as he saw the red rose.
"Thank you for helping me, ..." he trailed off in a question.
"Arthur." England replied.
"Ah, yes, Arthur. Now, I have a question to ask you."
Arthur barely breathed.
"Are you my soulmate? Because the world just got a lot brighter."

Arthur started in surprise and almost fell down.
"What?"
"You heard me, Arthur."
"Well, then," he replied, flustered, "Yes. My vision has turned to color too."
The other man smiled sweetly and stepped closer.
"I think I can stand the thought of you as my soulmate."
This noses almost touching, they slowly leaned in to a kiss, both of them smiling happily in to it.
Hey, Arthur?"
"Yeah?"
Francis tossed the red rose to him came in for a hug."Thank you for making my world brighter, love."
The story ends.
