Cause why not.
Thanks to my irl friends who saw this and told me what ship to do next.
I got all the information about deserts from Ranger Apprentice book 7: Erak's Ransom. By John Flanagan.
Enjoy!!!
_____________
The desert was a horrible place, with sand cobras lurking in the shade and occasionally, sandstorms.
Greece only went because Egypt desperately needed water. Most of the oases were dried out, and that left Egypt himself sick with dehydration. Egypt was tagging along with him, against his protests. He said he needed to be the guide.
He hated to see his boyfriend like that. Usually, he was so strong, but now, he seemed a husk of his former self.
On the worst days, Egypt would almost disappear into the duat, unless he fought against the misty currents that threatened to drag him down.

Greece looked at Egypt uncertainty.
Today, he was a bit relieved, because he called on Zeus, the king of rain in Greece, to downpour a bit of rain on Egypt.
Zeus could not pour much because the Egyptian deities interfered with his power.
But it was enough.
[[[[[[[[[
Egypt looked a bit better, his kheffiya covering most of his face from the burning heat that raged outside.
Greece only had his cloak. But he was willing to do anything for Egypt. He loved him.

They stumbled upon a tent that was made out of canvas.
"What is it doing here?" Egypt croaked out curiously.
"I have no idea. Let's check inside." Greece coughed.
"Are you-"
Greece pulled him in gently.
The problem was, there was no tent. They were delirious with no water.

Greece soon realized something was wrong. The world seemed to be spinning and shifting in and out of focus.
His eyes cleared, and horror dawned on his face. The tent was actually a rock balanced on a short cliff. Short, but enough to snap their necks.
"Egypt, stop!" He leaned over and tried to stop the Egyptian from falling.
Just in time.
Egypt was falling unconscious, about to drop to his death. He only saw a bed underneath him and a soft pillow.
It was really all air.
[[[[[[[[
Greece grabbed on to his wrist, and Egypt's eyes fluttered open, now cleared. He looked up to see Greece clamping his wrist. He knew it was a futile attempt when he regarded the drop underneath him.
He smiled sadly."Just drop me, Heracles. You and I both know you can't hold on to me forever or pull me up."
"No. If you're going down, I'm going too."
They seemed to come to a silent agreement.
Both smiling at each other, the couple fell towards their death.
