He had just come home from the war between him and Denmark. The bleak landscape reflected his mood.
Cold, and distant from life.
Prussia was nowhere to be seen. He had no idea where his boyfriend was, which saddened him even more.
He stared outside as he fingered his pendant. Coming to a decision, he donned his beanie and came outside, sitting on the front porch.
Snow fell all around him, and the trees were bare, swaying slightly in the wind.
A single tear dripped down on the ice, and he didn't bother trying to stop them from flowing down. It felt satisfactory somehow. Like each of them represented his emotions.
Another drop.
Depression.
Drip.
Sadness.
Plop.
Bitterness.
These tears were for Prussia. For his parents, who had died in the war. For him.
As he looked off into the distance, a train flew by, rustling his hair. One of the advantages of having a train track right in front of the house.
Wait. He looked closer. Was that Prussia!?
Indeed it was. As the train raced past the tracks, Prussia gasped as he saw Canada. He soon overcame his shock and waved.
In the wake of the train, a small slip of paper fluttered to the ground, landing at Canada's feet. He picked it up, smiling slightly at the words.
You're never by yourself.
