*TWO WEEKS LATER*

CYBERLINK COVE (SKYHOOK ISLE)-2078

((Huge thank-you to MaskedManie for the cover on the right!))

“There, that’s right! You got it!” Chrissy said approvingly as Sean shakily steered a motor boat down the coastline of Skyhook Isle, the stinging spray frothing. Chrissy had been training Sean, while Philip-and occasionally, Tina-trained Gail.

Chrissy and Sean got along famously. Chrissy’s crass attitude perfectly complemented Sean’s comical nature. The two already had an extensive collection of inside jokes that stumped the other pirates. They often exchanged smiles at even the most somber times, the same thought springing to both their minds. Chrissy felt like Sean was the immature younger brother she never had, and Sean viewed Chrissy almost as that cool teacher who just happened to have the ability to impale someone with a lethal accuracy in a split second. No biggie.

After going around the island two more times, Chrissy decided it was time to stop. Fuel wasn’t cheap, and most of the time it was stolen by Eli and his crew on Reef. It was treacherous sending pirates into the cargo ships for valued resources, but it was a risk they were willing to take.

“You’re ready to use one of these babies if we do something with ‘em soon,” Chrissy told Sean as they trekked back to Smuggler’s Tavern.

Sean grimaced. “I still don’t like the feeling that we could drown or something,” he said moodily.

Chrissy smacked him playfully. “Don’t be such a downer, you’re pretty decent at it. Better than I was, at any rate.”

Sean chuckled, his sunny demeanor flying back. “Did you manage to sink a boat or something?” he asked, a devious twinkle lighting up his mismatched eyes.

“I may or may not have,” she said haughtily, tossing her head in the air. Sean laughed wholeheartedly, while Chrissy pretended to me offended by the fact Sean thought it was funny. However, a minute later, she couldn’t help it and joined in. When they pushed open the door to the bar, still chuckling, Francie took note of their mirth, amused.

“Y’all are crazy,” she commented wryly, the sides of her lips twitching up into a smirk.

“And you love us for it,” Chrissy countered mischievously with a carefree wink.

Francie snorted derisively. “Chrissy, you’re a piece of work. I hope you know that. Sean, you’re not much better either,” she said, jokingly waggling a finger in their direction. “Anyway, moving past that, how’s the Plat Fest stuff going?”

Sean turned to leave. Every time the pirates mentioned something about the Festival of Platinum, they started whispering in hushed tones and glancing suspiciously at the others in the room. Sean understood that they were planning something confidential, and he didn’t want to disturb or be a nuisance.

But this time, Chrissy told him to stay. “Sean, where you goin’?” she asked. He looked at her. She had an eyebrow arched questioningly.
