She found sleep elusive and instead of reading the book that her inner-darkness had put his hands on, she took a walk around the mansion. It was an eerie quiet, and would be so for the next few hours. It was almost nice, the world was simply so... boring during the day. She hoped her thoughts weren't demon related, but truth be told, she had never been scared of the dark like all the other children.
Come to think of it, she'd never seen shadows where there weren't any, or been scared of what lurked in the night. Not in a bad way though, she simply found it silly that no one ever explored the intriguing world of night.
As Akila was running her fingers over one of the delicate wood carvings, she heard a knock on the front door. Who would come at this time of night? Nevertheless, she was glad that she was near enough to hear it. She carefully opened the door. "Hello?"
"I come bearing news." The speaker was a messenger. He shifted impatiently as he waited for permission to speak.
"What is it?" Akila asked.
"A new Dragonborn has been found." He reported.
Her eyes widened. "Where is he?"
"H-he didn't comply."
"What do you mean?" Akila asked.
"He changed into a Dragon and flew right off, he abducted a girl along the way." The messenger hastily said. He trembled as he looked into her eyes. It took her a second to understand.
"Well I'm not going to eat you." She said.
He immediately calmed down.
"One last thing."
"Yes?"
"Where was he last seen?" Akila inquired.
"Windbarrow."
"Alright, that is all. You may go." She dismissed him.
The messenger nodded and scurried off.
"Gods," She muttered to herself, "Why would I eat him?" Akila has more pressing matters on her mind though. "Oralia!" She called. She was surprised when the maid actually showed up.
"Yes dear?"
"I have an urgent matter to discuss with the Knights, would you mind waking them and asking them to meet me in the dining room?" She asked.
Instead of replying, she simply scurried off to get the task done.
Akila herself made a beeline for the fore-mentioned room. She had no idea how many mouths the messenger's information passed before it came to her, but Dragonborns couldn't just transform like that. So either he got the information wrong, or something was going on.
When she arrived in the dining room, Moon was already waiting. "You got up quickly." Akila observed.
"I see the future, remember." The girl looked proud to have gotten this event right, especially after all her complaints that she was getting things wrong.
It took no more than a few minutes for everyone to file in, Allura being last. "Care to explain why you've torn me away from my beauty rest?"
Akila sighed. "For the record, I'm sorry. But a problem has arose. A messenger just came and informed me that a new Dragonborn has been found, but he was unwilling to come. He also said that said Dragonborn transformed and flew away. He abducted a villager girl in the process."
Gustav leaned back in his chair, "That is serious indeed, but have you considered that the information may be wrong?"
Akila nodded. "Yes, but if it's right then this could be a serious problem."
