A week later, dresses were already coming in. Allura had wanted all the girls to get together and try them on, mostly because she wanted to show hers off. She had a flowing baby yellow dress complemented by see-through shawls draped across her shoulders. Sai and Akila were still tugging their own dresses on. Sai's was the color of her scales and one of a shade slightly darker than the fore-mentioned one. It's fabrics hugged her tightly until the waist, at which point it fell into waves that were decorated with pearls and net-like fabric to resemble foam. To make up for short sleeves, Sai also wore white gloves that reaches up just past the elbow.
Akila, on the other hand, had a beautiful violet dress. Her shoulder puffed out a bit, and it was cut rather low. It was done traditionally in layers, with a darker shade of color woven to make the silhouette of carnations. She also wore gloves much like Sai's, except they were the color of her dress.
When Allura saw her outfit, she rushed out and quickly brought out a beautiful amethyst necklace and pair of earrings. She also decreed that Akila's hair was to be put up with a butterfly pin that matched the other jewelry.
Her companions seemed to be sharing one of their rare moments of peace as they giggled about their dresses. She, though, was concentrating on other things, like her power. Akila desperately tried to find her power, and she felt as if she was tugging on it, but nothing happened. It seemed to want to lure her in deeper, but she refused to summon a large amount, lest it be something destructive.
For the past week, she'd been getting 'Lady Lessons' from the two. So, after having morning tea with them, which Allura claimed to be 'The Ultimate Test' for she had to move in her gown, hold a cup correctly, and eat crumpets without leaving crumbs, she was finally declared fit for the ballroom.
Finally, Akila was able to dress in her comfortable corset-free training clothes. Due to their constant use, Oralia had added two more pairs of them. 'You know you can request clothes.' The old maid had said.
'Yes.' Akila had replied. She didn't feel quite at home with everyone at her beck and call though, so she hadn't.
She was about ready to take her dragon form when Gavin joined her. They'd abandoned weapons for a bit so that she could focus solely on controlling her second form. After all, she might be requested to change and the least she could do is look presentable. Akila had managed to get everything under control but her wings. She could fold and unfold them, therefore making her look majestic and presentable, but she couldn't fly.
"Alright," He said. "Let's get you off the ground."
He transformed, but stopped her before she could follow in suit. "Just hop on my back, I'm going to take you to a cliff."
Akila swallowed her nervousness and hopped on. After a thirty minute flight, they arrived at a rocky outcrop that was a hundred yards from the edge of a cliff. As soon as they landed, she hopped off and changed into her silver form.
The view was beautiful. A few hundred feet below her, miles and miles of untamed forest spread before her. To the right, she could see the mansion in the distance, she suspected that was only because of the heightened vision that came with her powers. The outcrop behind her was only twice the height of a dragon.
"Now, I don't think you want to dive right off the cliff, you're going to start up there." He motioned to the outcrop with his wing. "Just try to glide down. If you find yourself going right over the cliff, keep gliding but I will follow unless you loose control. If that's the case, change to human form so that I can catch you."
