Open door ~ Christie_19_books

"Disney?" Finn frowned, "Really, Mr. Schue?"

"Yes, Finn! Disney!" The teacher cheered, "I thought we'd have a fun week, as a reward for all the hard work you put into the musical."

Mr. Schue watched with decreasing enthusiasm as his students shared sceptical looks.

"So, the assignment is to, uh, sing a Disney song." Mr. Schue muttered, capping his white board pen.

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Okay, can I just, say something crazy?

Blaine grinned at the childish voice Kurt put on, Blaine replicating the voice as he spoke his line.

I love crazy!

Kurt's childish voice dropped and he now sang in his usual voice, raising an eyebrow at Blaine as he threw his arms out to the sides.

All my life has been a series of doors in my face
And then suddenly I bump into you

Blaine gasped dramatically, turning to face Kurt as he sang his line.

I've been searching my whole life to find my own place
And maybe it's the party talking or the chocolate fondue

They began taking it into turns to sing short lines, leaning closer to the other every time they sang.

But with you...
But with you
I found my place...
I see your face...
And it's nothing like I've ever known before!
Love is an open door!
Love is an open door!
With you!
With you!
With you!
With you!

Blaine turned to the glee club, taking in their wide smiles as they watched the two boys dance around each other, mirroring each other's ecstatic smiles.

I mean it's crazy...
What?
We finish each other's-
Sandwiches!
That's what I was gonna say!
I've never met someone-
Who thinks so much like me!
Jinx! Jinx again!

Grabbing each other's hands, they started dancing around the choir room, causing their friends to laugh and the both of them struggle to contain their own laughter.

Our mental synchronization
Can have but one explanation
You-
And I-
Were-
Just-
Meant to be!
Say goodbye...
Say goodbye...
To the pain of the past
We don't have to feel it anymore!
Love is an open door!
Love is an open door!
Life can be so much more!
With you!
With you!
With you!
With you!

Blaine swallowed thickly, this was it. He'd managed to distract himself and forget about this for a while but there was no forgetting now. He was really going to do this.

Love is an open door...
Can I say something crazy?

Kurt nodded, placing his hands dramatically over his mouth when Blaine got down on one knee, his mouth dropping open at the sight of his boyfriend reaching into his back pocket and pulling out a small black box.

Will you marry me?

"Blaine, what're you-"

Blaine smiled softly, holding up a hand to Kurt who fell silent as Blaine began speaking.

"I love you. I love you so much, and I really hope you know that. You're the man that stole my heart." Blaine shook his head, smiling to himself, "I'm normally mad when people take what's mine, but in this case, I couldn't be happier. I think that you were always meant to rescue me that night. I still believe, to this day, it was more than luck that you found me." Blaine paused, looking up to meet Kurt's watery gaze, "It was fate; something our souls knew before our minds and bodies. Ever since, I've been so lucky to have been given the opportunity to know you and be yours. And frankly, I think the stars have been pointing us towards this moment. They've-" Blaine's voice broke off, the man clearing his throat before continuing "They've given us a key for the door to our future. All we need to do is open that door."

Blaine wrapped a hand around the top of the box, pulling it back so it opened to reveal a ring, grinning at the gasp it took from Kurt's lips, "What I'm asking you to do is something I'll only ask once in my lifetime: Kurt Hummel, will you marry me?"

Kurt stared down at the boy who stared back up at him with a hopeful gaze.

Kurt closed his eyes briefly, memories of that night crossing his mind. Images of Blaine lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood, his mouth moving as if he was trying to scream for help but his incessant gasping for air overthrowing the need to attract the attention of anyone willing to listen.

Of course, the sound of punching and kicking was all too familiar to Kurt, the boy had ran down that damp and dark alleyway the second he heard the telltale sounds of a fight, only to be met with a sight far worse. Because there lay a small, frail raven-haired boy on the ground, 2 figures towering over him as they kicked and punched him.

Kurt's eyes flickered back open to find Blaine -only having his hair and eyes in common with that skinny boy Kurt had driven to the hospital, speeding past many red lights in his haste- staring up at him, hopeful eyes still gazing into his face.

Kurt allowed a grin to break out onto his face, beginning to nod slowly before whispering, "Yeah."

The glee club had broken into applause and cheers but neither boy noticed, too distracted by the feel of not only their lips connecting, but their hearts and souls becoming one as they pressed close together in a tight embrace. They'd come so far from that first night.

Eh this is short af  but that beautiful proposal speech is written by the one and only thereekofgleek
