He sat there struggling to button up his shirt. Struggling only because of the bandages straining his hands. He huffed in frustration just barely missing on the last button. A quick stretch of his fingers and he tried again.
"I could help." He felt a shift in the bed at Victor saying that.
"You don't have to."
"You're clearly having trouble, let me." Another shift and soft hands came behind him. The soft breath in his ear somewhat relaxed him. Victor's fingers worked to fix the button in place, successful in no time. Victor didn't move when he was done, he simply rested his arms on Heine's shoulders and pulled him back a bit.
"Thank you..." Heine flushed pink and relaxed his weight on Victor.
"Where do you to do that to your hands?" Victor asked, his hands gripping onto and pulling up Heine's bandaged hands to inspect them.
"A tree." Heine answered simply. Hearing Victor giggling was all the more soothing.
"You haven't changed a bit." Sincerity and fondness was apparent in those words.
"Neither have you."
"We're both just simple children, I suppose."
A comfortable silence made its way through. They didn't move, just stared into the distance. It was a mutual silence that Heine missed. It wasn't tense or depressing. It was just enjoying each other's presence. It was the rare kind that he always craved.
"What happened to us?" He questioned suddenly, breaking the silence. A simple question. Yet it said more.
"Too much." Victor's answer said just as much.
"I suppose." Heine sighed out. Nothing really meaningful just a sign of frustration on his part.
"I'm sorry this really didn't fix anything."
"It's alright." Heine unhooked Victor's arms from around him and turned around. He leaned with one foot on the floor and one leg bent on the bed. His arm kept him up. "But you're wrong."
"How so?" Victor raised a brow.
"Well, we're talking, are we not?"
"I suppose so..."
"It also let me think clearly."
"What do you propose?" Victor leaned closer.
"We shouldn't say a word." Heine following Victor's movements with out much thought.
"Is that your final decision?" They were just centimeters from each other.
"Yes." He breathed.
"Finally." Victor passively said before their lips met in heated kiss.

"You all suck and I'm the best!" Licht exclaimed as he kicked the door to the library open. All three of the other princes looked at him with pure confusion.
"What exactly did you do?" Bruno was first to respond.
"Cheered our dear professor up."
"What?"
"I'm totally his favorite now." Nothing but pride in his words.
"Unfair!" Leo called out.
"It's fair and square." Licht crossed his arms with a smirk.
"Excuse me," Bruno interrupted. "But I'm his favorite." Both Leo and Licht burst into laughter at the statement their brother made. "What?"
"There's no way-" Licht wheezed. "-you're his favorite!"
"We don't know that!" He steadied his breathing with a few deep breaths.
"You're right, we don't. Doesn't mean we can't find out."
"No."
"Why not?"
"Just no." Bruno pushed his classes back in place. "He's had enough I'm sure."
"That's the thing, maybe we shouldn't force it out of him but slowly get to it."
"We're not patient enough for that."
"Agreed!" Leo added alongside Bruno. "That's a really stupid idea."
"It's really not."
"Prove it."
Licht pouted, "Fine."
