I stood in front of Camila and the girl with my mouth open. Not once did my mom bring up a fucking stepsister. I was pissed.
"Um hey." She says softly.
I know I was making them feel awkward considering the look on my face, but I was totally fine with that. I didn't give a damn.
"Uh, Jade? How about you help Scarlett with her things? Jay is parked out front." Camila says and shoos Jade away.
"I didn't know-" I start to say, but she puts a hand on my shoulder.
"I know, your father thought it was best if you didn't. Plus, she's not actually related to you, Scarlett. She's a very nice girl and smart as well." Camila says and puts her arm around me, like my mom did and walks me outside.
In front of me stood a white, sleek limo. Jade was putting my bags in while a fancy guy in a uniform helped her.
"That's Jay, he's our driver." Camila says, slipping her sunglasses on and getting in the limo.
"Driver?" I ask and step behind her.
The interior of the limo was fancy with bottles of wine, beer and snacks. I was in shock. On the side, were pictures of Jade and Camila.
"Is this yours?" I ask looking around the limo.
Camila pulls out her phone and types on her phone before looking up at me.
"The limo?" She asks. "Of course."
I turn around and roll my eyes at her bitchy comment. Where the fuck did my dad get that money?
A few seconds later Jade slides in next to me with her Coach purse in hand and her eyes glued to her phone as well. She was just like her mother.
"So, how was the flight?" Camila says. I'm sure my dad was making her talk to me.
"It was okay, kinda bumpy."
She sighs and fixes her heel.
"Business class always is. I asked your father to move you to first class, but he refused." She says.
I wanted to shoot her. Why did she already think she was better than me? Jade flips on the radio and "Talk Dirty" plays through the limo. I lean back and look at both Jade and Camila on their phones.
Glad they looked forward to see me.
A couple minutes later, after we got out of the busy part of LA, we pull into a driveway. Camila and I only made small talk throughout the rest of the drive and Jade hadn't looked up once.
As we pull into the driveway, I realize we are arriving at a fucking mansion. It was hard to see, considering the windows of the limo were tinted, but it looked huge.
"Is this where you live?" I ask surprised.
"Yeah." Jade says, grabbing her purse. That was one of the only words she had said to me.
As the limo comes to a stop, Jay comes and opens the door for us, helping Jade come out. When I step out, I almost pass out. The house or mansion was so god damn big.
"Holy shit." I say under my breath as Jay helps me out. He looks at me and smiles.
"That's what I said too." He says quietly. I was surprised he had heard me, but I smiled at him anyways and looked forward.
Jade was already halfway up the front stairs when I got out. She acted like she owned everything, which I guess she did, but it still pissed me off.
"Wow." I say to Camila whose trailing behind me. "Nice house."
"Thanks." She say back, carrying my bag which I knew she hated doing especially in heals. To be honest, I didn't give a fuck.
The interior of the house was just like the outside, rich and fancy. To the right, was a very large office with doors that almost reached the twenty foot celing and to the left, was a hallway leading to the eleboarate kitchen. I didn't feel at home at all, I felt totally out of place.
"Jade?" Camila yelled when she stepped into the front enterance. "Show Scarlett her room, please." Jade had already gone up the twenty step staircase and into her room, shutting the door before I came in.
"Jade!" Camila yells again. "You're being rude."
I hear the door click open from upstairs and she appears looking down at us. I wonder what she was thinking right now. Seeing a seventeen year old Washington student standing like an idiot in her million dollar house.
Jade closes her eyes for a moment and sighs. "Come up here." She says harshly. I look back at Camila, who again is glued to the face of her phone, typing away. I sigh and set my stuff down, trudging up the stairs.
"Your father will be home from work soon, Scarlett. He'll be so happy to see you. We've arranged a fancy dinner for us all so, I'll holler when it's ready." Camila says when I'm halfway up the stairs. I fake smile at her and she walks into the kitchen with her heels clicking behind her.
Jade's room was something you'd see in tumblr. It was blue, very blue with cutouts of famous people from the twentith century sprawled around. Her iMac was placed in a corner, almost hidden and I automatically wondered what she hid on there.
I start to walk inside of the room, but she turns around. Her hair is in a low ponytail now, but she still looked gorgeous. She raises her eyebrows slightly and scans me with her eyes, just like Camila had done.
"Your room is next door." She says with a total snobby attuide. I look at her and turn around.
She was such a bitch.
The room was pink. All pink, almost like a room a four year old baby would have. I wasn't too picky usually over color on rooms, but this was too much.
I put my bag on the bed and lay down for a few seconds until Camila knocks on the door and comes in without waiting for my response.
"Your father called." She says, throwing a small piece of paper in the trash can next to my bed.
"Yeah?" I ask, sitting back up.
"He's stuck in traffic at the set, but he's gonna try to make it. Julius, my chef, has already started making dinner for us, so I'll just ask him to heat it up when he gets home." Camila is at the bedroom door with her hands crossed.
"Uh, thanks." I mumble, standing up and trying to give her the hint that I didn't want her here.
"So, I'll see you in a bit. Jade will show you around the house soon."
"Uh, it's okay. She doesn't have to."
Camila looks back at me and raises her eyebrows.
"I mean, if she wants to, I guess she can." I say softly.
Camila smiles at me and walks off, slowly shutting the door behind her. I was alone finally.
Alright, so for some reason I feel like these chapters are kinda going slow, but I'll speed them up a bit. Haha anyways it's like totally storming here and I'm scared sooo :)
That's it I guess. Wow so short!
See you soon ;)
