Thinking is actually the worst possbile thing, ever. It makes you change your mind over and over again until you get so confused you want to shoot yourself.
That's me right now, confused.
I walk halfway down the stairwell until Jade steps out of her room.
"Where the fuck are you going?" She asks, her door half open.
I glance up at her and roll my eyes.
"Away from you." I mutter, reaching ground level and opening the front door.
"Camila will be pissed, you know." She says, stepping out of her door.
I pause for a moment, smile and then face back towards her.
"Are you saying you want to go with me?" I ask, smirking.
"What?" She exclaims, huffing. "No, I still think you're a bitch."
I put on my sunglasses and walk out the door, shutting it softly.
A few minutes later, Jade is in the car with me.
"Where are we going?" She asks, applying lip gloss.
"Wherever you wanna go." I mumble, backing up out of the driveway.
She glances at the rear view mirror, making sure her lip gloss is good.
"There's a 7/11 in town. I usually go there with Avery. We mix slurpees with alcohol and sneak in the back of the building."
I look at her and raise my eyebrows.
"Okay, that's cool." I say and she nods, looking forward.
7/11 was empty, as usual. Jess and I get out of the car and head straight to the slurpee station and then grab a case of beer. The cashier barely even questions us when we hand him our ID and then we walk to the back.
Jade stops in her tracks as she turns the corner of the back building.
"What?" I say, sipping my slurpee.
She shakes her head and walks back towards the car.
I glance around the corner. It was Cameron, Matt and some of their friends.
"Jade-" I say, walking towards her and grabbing her arm.
"Stop!" She yells, trying to get free.
Suddenly, my slurpee crashes to the ground and we both watch as the colors spread everywhere.
"You can't hide from him, okay?" I say quietly.
"Scarlet, you don't understand, I can't be by him." She says, walking back farther.
"Jade!" I holler again. She stops and turns around.
"You have to settle this. You have to be the bigger person Jade, just trust me." I say.
She looks up at me and then looks back for a second, putting her hand on her forehead.
"Please?" I ask once more.
She nods her head and within a few seconds, I'm regretting our decison.
When I turn the corner, Matt sees me.
"Fuck." He mutters and they stop talking.
Cameron slowly turns around.
"Cameron-" Matt says, holding his arm. "Don't regret this."
He pulls away and walks closer, smirking.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here? The little slut and her prude sister." He says.
