The ceiling above me had a few cracks in it which was quite surprising for a house like this. My hair was sprawled all over the satin, white pillows that didn't match the pink bedspread. I roll over to the alarm clock. 6:40. Jade and I were planning to leave for the dunes at 7:00 and for some reason, I was kind of nervous. Maybe it was the fact that I knew I wouldn't fit in or maybe it was Jade, leaving me by myself with people I had no idea were capable of.

I had thrown on my "Lets Get Lost" crop top shirt and a pair of high-waisted shorts. Camila had suggested to wear converse so, she gave me hers. They were a bit small, but I was just thankful she hadn't offered me a pair of heels or some crazy shit like that.

I decided to walk around the house a bit, considering I had been locked up in my room for basically the entire time I had been here. After I got down on the main level, I checked my surrondings and headed left towards a dark hallway. I walk slowly, making sure no one sees or hears me and peer into the french door room on the right-hand side. Shit. It was the office and my dad was sitting right there. I clinched my palm and pray that he didn't see me. I wait a few seconds and make my way upstairs again. I felt like a fucking prisoner.

Around 7:15, Jade knocked on the bedroom door and yelled for me to get my phone and bag. I looked in the mirror before I swung the door open and revealed Jade in seriously one of the most sluttest outift's I've seen.

"Nice outfit." I mumble and walk past her. I feel her eyes scan me down and see her eyes roll around and she then follows me.

"See ya later, Mom. I'll-" Jade stops and looks at me.

"I mean, we'll be home at like twelve latest." Jade yells when she reaches the front door.

I hear Camila's heels run down the hallway.

"Wait! I want a picture of you two! You know, like the first bonding session of the two sisters!" She says cheerfully and snaps the picture, which I didn't bother to smile in.

"Stepsisters." I say under my breath.

"Awh, you two are too cute!" She says again and gives us each a hug.

"See you later, Mom." Jade says softly, opening the front door and then we're free.

The dunes might be one of the coolest places, I've ever layed my eyes on. It was filled with people, guys and girls and loud music bursting through ever corner. It was slightly cold so I pulled my sweatshirt over myself more. I look behind me and see Jade talking to a group of people, laughing and chatting.

She catches my eye and sighs. I hear her say something to them and to my surprise, walks over to me.

"You look so fucking stupid standing here alone. I'm only doing this because I'm nice and I'm afraid you'd tell my mom." She whispers and turns back to the group that she was talking to.

"This is Scarlett, my cousin from Washington. The one I told you about." Jade says to them. There was two fairly attractive guys, one black-haired and the other brunette. Another girl stood in between them with two tattoos running up her arms.

"Hey." The brunette guy says. "I'm Wes."

I smile at him and look back down at the sand. This was so fucking weird.

"Hi, I'm Avery." The blonde chic says, smiling at me. She reeked of alcohol.

We all stood there for a bit, looking around.

"You wanna get a drink?" Avery says to me.

"Sure." I say and follow her to the drink table.

"So." She says, pouring vodka into two cups. "I heard you're a bitch."
