I want to apologise to y'all. I lost all motivation for this story after a very hard year. I barely graduated from high school and my parents were trying to buy a house (They did! Which was great!). We moved from a rental that we had live in for almost 8 years to their forever home, our rental was crap. So many things were wrong with that house, but the worst was the water leak our landlord didn't tell us about. Our (definitely illegal or at least against living regulations for homes) bathroom in the basement had a few major issues the biggest being the toilet that wasn't flush with the floor. Meaning Everytime it flushed, water leaked from the bottom, we decided to just stop using that bathroom and put a table in front of it to "seal it off". Turns out that another issue the house had was it's very old sump pump connected to pipes that had roots growing in them, the sump pump easily got backed up due to the roots and ended up ruining the concrete partially in the basement when it spilled out into the room. We didn't realize it had reached the walls and in turn soaked into the carpets and walls, we thought we had managed to clean it up before it caused any damages. Not to mention the leaking toilet that continued to leak with the water off. We finally found out about that after we went to move our things in storage down there finding most of it ruined and the bathroom had mold growing on the walls. It was bad, we had closed that bathroom in year 2 at the house. We finished removing our things and called a carpet cleaner after consulting with a specialist about the mold in the sump pump room, which he took pictures of cause he hadn't ever seen anything like it before. Talk about embarrassing. But it was toxic and we were living in it, constantly sick but unaware of the danger. I lived in the basement room until my sister took it over with her mess and I moved out onto the couch in the living room. My mother argues with me Everytime I say it but I know for a fact I lived on a couch for 4 years. In highschool. In that horrible house. And people wondered what was wrong with me. So I am so sorry I left you all the way I did. Now that I'm in a better place in life, I plan of finishing Break the Rules. If not making a better rewrite and definitely changing some things. So here's to the future and all that comes with it. -Toki signing off. 💙🌸
