Anyways, this is a special chapter, in Derek's PoV! I am not very experienced in writing from a guy's PoV, so I hope you tell me if anything seems off or if he sounds too girly!

Enjoy reading! :)

Derek watched the girl who saved his life slip a wallet out of an innocent victim's pocket. Part of him marvelled at how quickly and easily she did it, as though she was a professional thief. Another part of him wanted to march over to her and drag her to the police station, not before returning the wallet to its original owner.

Unfortunately, the part of him that was amazed was more powerful than the part of him that wanted her to pay for her crime. A tug on his shoulder got him staring away from the window and towards his best friend once more.

"Derek? Are you even listening to me?" Violet, his best friend, asked. Peering over his shoulder, she tried to look out of the window but found nothing worth looking. "What were you looking at?" she asked curiously.

Derek shrugged carelessly, trying to hide what he saw. The fact that the girl who saved his life was a thief was his secret and he did not want to tell anyone about it, not even his best friend.

Violet looked at Derek before shrugging the matter off. "Anyways, you know I went to a party on the beach yesterday. You know, the one hosted by that crazy Charlie? The guy who is never sober?" Violet said, once again chattering his ear off with some other kind of weird gossip.

Derek nodded, his thoughts getting lost in memory of the girl who saved him from the car crash. He sighed loudly. He didn't even get her name. He wished he could meet her once more. After all, would he be calling her 'the girl who saved his life' for the rest of his life?

Derek shook his head. What was he thinking? His whole life? Was he really going to spend his whole life thinking about her? No, he was not that mad. He was just intrigued by her character because she seemed so complex. He would forget about her soon, he knew it.

He turned back to Violet, curious to know what she was still talking so much about.

"... And she told me she was a princess and her aunt was trying to steal her throne. Well, first I didn't really believe her because obviously, does it even make sense? But, she sounded so convincing, I think she was telling the truth. Weird thing was that..." Violet went on but Derek was confused.

"Wait a second," he said, raising his hand, indicating Violet to stop talking, "who has been telling you all on this?" he asked curiously.

Violet groaned loudly. "Do you even listen to anything I say? I said, there was this girl. Her name was Kaya, or maybe Kiera. She said she is a princess. Of Atlantis, no less."

Derek raised an eyebrow. "And you believed her?" he asked.

Violet let out a frustrated sigh. "Obviously! Seriously, it is so hard to talk to you sometimes! You never listen!" she said, annoyed.
