Edward slammed on the brakes and swore. If it had not been for my vampire strength, speed and reflexes, I would have gone through the windshield. As it so happened, I placed my hand on the dashboard and this stopped me from going through but left a dent in the shape of my hand. Emmett on the other hand went straight into Edward's seat and swore loudly as well.

"The tracker's figured it out." I swore now too.

"How?"

"He was wary anyway but he must have figured out our lack of destination I don't know."

"Is he going back to Forks?" Emmett asked, leaning over the seats.

"It's very likely." I pointed out.

"I don't know his intentions are getting on a plane. He's too out of range now, he was wondering in and out anyway but now he's gone."

"Can we stop him?" I asked.

"No. He's already too far ahead." But he made a U-turn and drove quickly back the way we came. I dialled number two on the cell. Esme picked up on the first ring.

"Carlisle?" Her voice was filled with love and affection. My heart seemed to beat again to hear that she was safe.

"Are you and Rose safe?"

"Yes. We're fine. How's everyone over there?"

"We're okay but we've lost the tracker. He's got on a plane. But we don't know where to. We think he's going back to Forks."

"Well the female seems to be expecting him. She's been going anywhere that Bella has been in. She went to the school, Bella's house while Charlie was at work, the airport now. She hasn't been near Charlie though."

"Okay good, we're heading back now."

"Can Em get on the phone? Rose needs to hear his voice." I held the phone out to Emmett.

"Rose..." Emmett sighed deeply. I stared out the window, trying to ignore their notes of affection and love, it just seemed too private. Within a minute though, they had done and he had hung up. I next speed dialled number three on the cell. Alice picked up on the first ring.

"Carlisle." She sighed. A sigh of relief, a sigh of panic as well. My name spoke in her voice said it all.

"Alice is Bella safe? Are you?"

"Yes." She said.

"Listen, the tracker's gone. We're just outside of Vancouver and he's turned tail and gone. It seems that he may be going back to Forks, but he's got on a plane and he's going somewhere. Victoria has been tracing Bella, she went to the school, the Swan Household but Charlie was at work at the time, the airport... I don't think she's getting anywhere though."

"I just saw him," Alice said. "I have two visions of him. The first one is a room that's long and covered in mirrors and a wooden floor. There's a gold stripe across the mirrors and he's got a VCR with a T.V. He's waiting in that room but I don't know where it is. And my other vision is in a really dark room where he's watching the VCR on a T.V but I think it's a different room. Whatever made him get on that plane... it was leading him to those rooms." Edward held out his hand for the phone.

"Is Bella awake?"

"Yes." She spoke Bella's name and I handed the phone over to Edward. Edward took it and I again blocked out the exchange they had. I could hear Bella's voice too but I tuned it out. He hung up after a minute or two and silently handed the phone back to me. His voice and his face had lit up when he had heard Bella's voice and now it was dead again. I twisted slightly in my seat to see Emmett staring out the window blankly. They looked exactly like I felt, upset and alone. More alone than ever before.

We drove in silence, just wishing we were together with our family. I couldn't stop thinking about Esme... Her soft, warm skin, her beautifully shaped eyes with the butterscotch irises. The day finished and the next day began again. Edward was driving slightly over the speed limit. That's when the phone rang. All of our eyes flickered at it and I picked it up while it was still ringing. I placed it on speaker, not that any of us needed, we could all hear the conversation but if someone was ringing, that meant bad news.

"Carlisle?"

"Alice what is it?" Alice spoke so quickly but my vampire senses easily caught every word and I knew Emmett and Edward got it too.

"My first vision of the mirror room was actually a ballet room. Bella identified it because she used to have lessons here in Phoenix. She says she doesn't have any need to go there now but the place is connected through the lessons when she was young.

"My second vision of the dark room, Bella has identified as her mother's house also here in Phoenix," We all exchanged looks of horror in the car. "I don't know if Edward mentioned it but it was mentioned back in the house with Bella and Charlie before Bella left, that Renee was coming back to Phoenix if her partner Phil didn't get signed up for some team. She'll come back to that house."

"I'm going to get on the next plane to Phoenix. I'm coming to get Bella and I'm going somewhere until this is over." Edward said.

"We're all coming." Emmett put in.

"We'll be on the next flight Alice."

"Got it." She hung up. We quickly found the nearest airport which was an hour away. Emmett called on ahead to book plane tickets. It would be the quickest way to Phoenix. Luckily for us, there was indeed a flight to Phoenix in two hours. Edward drove as fast as the Jeep would allow, it was built for strength, not speed as much but we got there in plenty of time. We had a few raised eyebrows for our lack of luggage but got nodded through security in no time. Emmett had picked up our plane tickets from the desk, showing his driver's license and passport as proof of identity. We then just had to wait in Departures. The wait was endless but finally, agonisingly slowly, we got to board our plane. We were in first class, Emmett hadn't been able to resist which meant two seats next to each other. Emmett had booked the fourth seat to himself as well so as to allow no human interaction. Edward and I sat next to each other and I used the phone on the front seats (where Emmett was sitting), to dial Alice's cell number. She picked up.

"We've just boarded the plane now, Alice. We'll be with you guys at nine forty five, your time."

"Okay." She hung up without another word. I placed the phone back.

"So now we wait." Emmett said, quietly, watching the air hostesses offer newspapers and complimentary glasses of orange juice.

"Now we wait." I agreed. I looked beside me at Edward. He was tapping his foot impatiently and staring into space. I sighed and looked out the window. It was going to be a long journey.
