Author'sQuick Side Note
Due to extremely popular demand, Carlisle and Esme's fanfiction has reached well over 5K views and even more votes. Thank you so much to everyone who had a hand in this. As a thank you, I have decided to continue the story. This has taken a little longer than expected but I hope you all enjoy this story as much as you did the first. Obviously this story works alongside Twilight written by Stephenie Meyer so details will match up. Some of it has been my own creation. Some of the details have been taken from the films as well as the books. All characters and the main story line belongs to Stephenie Meyer.
Edward burst into my office. The door banged against the wall. I froze in place, stunned into shock.
"Edward," I breathed a sigh of slight relief. The mixed emotions on his face prevented me from relaxing entirely. "Whatever is the matter, son?"
"I didn't think... I didn't know what else to do." Edward entered my room and took a seat in front of my desk. The door clicked shut behind him.
"What is it?" Something had happened and my son had my full attention.
"The girl. She... She... Almost got killed." I frowned in my confusion.
"How?" Edward looked up.
"It wasn't me. Not exactly." I leaned across the desk toward him.
"Not...Exactly?"
"Tyler Crowley lost control of his stupid van. He was going to hit her..." Edward covered his face with one hand.
"What did you do?"
"I stopped the van, didn't I? I had to... She was going to die."
"Were you seen?" I pushed away from my desk and started pacing my room.
"No. I'm certain of that."
"But she saw you..."
"I had to stop the van. But she hit her head hard on the ice. I am confident that I can use that against her." I looked at my son, pleadingly.
"Edward..." He knew what I was thinking again.
"No. I'm not going to change her or bite her."
"She might expose us." I told him. Edward opened his mouth to disagree but he suddenly stopped and his face changed. His expression became angry and he thumped my desk with his fist. Not hard enough that he broke it but enough to cause some damage to the wood.
"Rosalie's on the warpath." I grabbed my white doctor's coat from off the hook on my door.
"We will tend to her later. Right now, we need to address another problem."
Edward followed me out of my office and to the Emergency area. The waiting room beyond was filled with students from the school. I recognised many of the faces.
"They want to know if Bella and Tyler are okay."
"They don't know about you?"
"No."
"Good," I walked into the department. "I heard the chief's daughter was here." I smiled warmly. I took the clipboard off one of my colleagues and examined it. Head injury. No clear implications or problems. She just needed a doctor to discharge her.
Chief Swan's daughter was sat on the hospital cot. She had soft brown hair, chocolate brown eyes, pale skin and flushed cheeks. She was very beautiful. And I understood what Edward had meant when he had told me of Isabella Swan. Her scent was stunning. Floral. Edward raised an eyebrow at me. I stifled a smile.
