Although Emmett and Edward were back when we got in, the weekend stretched out over Monday and Tuesday as well due to the sunny weather. I couldn't go into the hospital which drove me insane but I spent the days with my wife. She pulled me into cooking with her for the staff at my hospital. We baked chocolate chip cookies and the house smelt strongly of the beautiful cookies and chocolate.

Edward was still driving off in the middle of the night and coming back in early in the morning. However he had been politer with Rosalie and more suspicious of me because I was trying to forget the discussions I had with both Jasper and Rosalie. I was quite proud of my effort but I guessed Jasper and Rosalie had tried less to forget, it was easy to forget that Edward could read minds sometimes.

Tuesday night was when things really got bad. Edward left earlier than usual, thoughtful. Alice groaned the second he had left, her eyes blank with seeing where he was going.

"Bella by any chance?" Jasper asked her. We were all sat in the front room, doing our own various activities. Alice nodded.

"Yes. She's in Port Angeles tonight with some human friends."

"So what? He's going to spring her?" Emmett asked.

"No just watch what she's doing."

"The boy is impossible." Esme said with a small smile. Rosalie opened her mouth to say something with her eyes wide with fury but I caught her gaze and she closed her mouth again, choosing instead to bury her head in Emmett's chest.

The rest of the night passed quietly. Esme drifted upstairs to paint in our room. I worked on some of the files from the hospital, completing some paperwork. Rosalie went to the piano. Jasper and Emmett sat watching a soccer game while Alice sat beside Jasper, her head resting on his shoulder and her hands entwined with his. However, she kept going in and out of a vision, watching the future. I presumed it was Edward's. Once did her expression change from a calm and neutral expression to one of panic and fear.

"Alice?" Jasper sensed her change of emotion and turned so as to face her properly, putting his hands on the tops of her shoulders. She stared at him blankly.

"Edward has it." She whispered.

"What?" Emmett's attention had caught and so had mine.

"It's fine."

"Well what was it?" Emmett looked back at the television but I continued to watch the pair. Alice caught my eye but looked away again.

"It's nothing. Just... a vision. It's fine." We all waited throughout the rest of the night for anymore visions but nothing occurred. Edward eventually came home at three in the morning, looking happy for the first time in a long time.

"Well someone's happy." I mentioned as he smiled to himself. He looked at me and shrugged cheerfully.

"It's nearly the weekend. Oh yeah, Rose, Em, Alice, Jazz, you guys are going to have to take the Convertible tomorrow for school. I'll need the Volvo."

"Seriously?" Rosalie's piano playing had stopped but the last note was still in the air. She had appeared at the doorway, glaring at Edward.

"Yes, Rosalie, seriously." Edward smiled sweetly at her and walked up the stairs, humming to himself. Esme breezed down the stairs, passing Rosalie who had gritted her teeth and stalked off. Esme sat down beside me and I moved my paperwork aside to put my arms around her.

"What was all that about?" She whispered. We could still hear Edward humming to himself. I smiled and shrugged.

"Bella I guess." Esme's face lit up with pure joy as she whispered to me,

"He's finally happy."

"He's found his mate." I agreed. We sat on the couch, listening to Edward humming softly, a tune that none of us recognised.
