Sanna POV

2 weeks later

The park is absolutely lovely this evening. I've been sitting here on this bench basking in the sun for about an hour re-reading page 56 from this book by a local writer I met just casually walking around Campus. It's a thrilling tale about Princess and a knights, sailing the ocean, fighting a dragon.Typical fantasy but amazing. I wish I could focus on the story but I can't seem to give it the attention it deserve because my mind keeps finding itself wondering about other things.

Letting out a sigh I close my book thinking I'll pick it up later when my mind is clear .While taking sip of my late and basking in the suns warmth and the crisp wind massaging sending my hair flying around me , I lean back and close my eyes allowing myself to have a moment of peace to let the sun unwind my muscles. Any noise that is not the birds or the babbling brook is soon muted and forgotton.

Everyday I miss my home more and more , my mom, my brother.I miss Thomas..

Time passes and I soon feel something wet and rough rubbing against my hand.My eyes screw open and I am met with the happiest golden retriever wagging its tail before me and my day is immediately ten times better.

"Oh, hi, buddy!" I speak to the dog with an exaggerated inflection in my voice, "where'd you come from?" I ask rubbing his belly as I trace around the luscious park for a sign of an owner. "It looks like you lost your collar," I examine his neck, "well, I could use some company anyway," he rest his head on my lap and gives me his full attention . "See, I realized not too long ago that there's no one I can actually talk to here" I shrug.

Minutes pass by in silence as the dog who I have now named Buddy is sitting on the bench with me people watching.A little girl playing with her Dad at the moments has my attention. They've gone down the slides at least hundred times, have ran around and have touched every inch of this park. I wish I had that. The purity of a bond so uniquely special.

A head of bouncing dreads jogging towards me looking absolutely elated. To my surprise its Marcus making a line straight towards me.Completely out of breath he hunches over panting, gradually he regains composer and slowly begins to speak.

He points towards me "My-- my dog.. you have my dog," he takes the remaining water in his bottle and pours the contents on his face to cool down.

I smile "well, hello to you too Marcus." I peer up at him so he can see my face. His eyes grow wide, "Sanaa!" He shouts clearly stunned as he trips over his own two feet almost stumbling backwards and I giggle.

"I-I-I didn't know you be here," he exclaims frantically looks around, "are you alone?I swear I'm not following you! Nobody I know comes here." He rambles on stumbling over his words and I just can't help but to laugh, it's kind of adorable.

"Marcus," he still rambling on and I can't get a word in, "Marcus!" Finally he's calm, cool, and collected..almost.I let a chuckle, "you're fine, calm down and sit with me" I pat the space of the wooden bench next to me.

Marcus regains his composure and sits down and looks down at the dog who is fast asleep on my lap. "She likes you" he chuckles as he pats her head.

"She?"

"Yeah, Luna, actually," he adds, "We were jogging the trail and her collar snapped and she just ran off," he exhales, " I was so worried I wasn't going to find her, but behold she brought me to my other favorite girl" he coolly admits with a subtle smirk.

My brow raises, "you're flirting with me" I peer over at him.

"Am I now?" He raised his brow.
