ANOTHER OLD ONE YAY, XD I might post a load of old fanfics on here! Enjoy!

I couldn't find anywhere to live. After the war ended I had nowhere to go. My home was destroyed and my family was killed before I could return home. I now live on the streets in an unnamed town. The only place a normal human could survive. Unfortunately, I have to steal my money to live, to buy food and the main accessories I need.

I walked down the street, it was dark and pretty much dead. The buildings are old and destroyed. All I wanted was somewhere to live but, that will never happen.

I heard quiet sobbing from behind a wall, it was subtle. The cries were owned by a tall and large male. He was quite handsome with short well-cut hair. I took a few steps towards him, standing quietly watching him cry. The sobs echoed through the alley, giving it a ghostly sound.

"Are you okay?" I finally asked. He sniffled and looked up at me, his brown eyes met my red ones.

"N-No." he stuttered, his knees close to his chest. He looked so helpless, although he was incredibly large and buff. He looked like a wrestling champion. "I-I c-came home t-to my family, b-but they are g-gone..." His words sent chills down my spine." S-So I sailed here to this town I found. I-I have nowhere to go..." I tugged my cloak down a few times and swallowed before speaking.

"I know how you feel," I said bluntly. His eyes scanned my body before looking away.

"Sorry, milaya." Was all he said. I took a few deep breaths before sitting next to him. He looked uneasy but shuffled closer.

"it's okay," I said, putting an arm around his shoulder. He was much bigger than me so it was pretty awkward. He rested his head on me. I automatically wrapped my arms around him. I felt awful knowing I was complaining about having no home when others felt the exact same.

He buried his head into my neck, I stroked his hair comfortingly. He let out a few sobs before breaking down into my arms.

"It's okay, Cherie." I started, hugging him tightly, listening to his sobs. "I'll protect you." I felt myself blush at my own words. I let my long hair rest in front of my face as I continued to embrace him.

"T-Thank y-you, milaya..." He whispered into my neck. I grinned, not knowing what 'milaya' meant. But I guessed it's a nickname.

"My name is Gambit." I smiled, pulling away from him. He looked a lot happier.

"T-That's a nice name." he smiled. His smile was stunning I must admit. "My name is Peter, b-but I like to call myself Colossus..." He looked down, clearly embarrassed.

"Don't be embarrassed, Peter. That's a lovely name!" I chuckled slightly, closing my eyes for a moment then opening them again. "Hey, there is an abandoned house that is pretty good shelter, shall we go in, eh?"

"Yes!" he smiled and stood up with ease, so luckily, he wasn't hurt.

We took our time to walk to the house. It was broken and destroyed but it wasn't being rebuilt so it was a good shelter for us. Colossus was by my side, I had a friend. I swore to protect him and I will, he told me about his past. He is hurt emotionally. He was bullied by many other mutants and humans. He was only a teenager back then, like me, around 13 years old he was. I was 15.

It has been a few hours and we have got to know each other well. We are like family now, anyone would be at this time.

"I'm from Russia." He said, smiling. "Where are you from?" I looked at his shirt, breaking our eye contact.

"I'm from Louisianna." My smile faded. I remember the first time when the Sentinels attacked. Awful and scarring. Seeing all those people die.

"I've been there!" He said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I felt better hearing his voice.

"That's nice, Cherie." I smile, putting a hand on his. I saw his face turn a bright red.

"I-I heard America is completely unfixable. It's not e-even called America anymore it's called t-the F-Far A-Away Lands..." He looked away and a smile crept on his face. I'm very much enjoying this.

"Please continue, Cherie~" I held his hand, seeing that his face isn't red anymore, but tears were falling down his face. "C-Cherie?"

"Thank you." He closed his eyes, shuffling closer to me. "No one has cared about me like you have before." He sounded hurt and broken. My heart melted at the thought of him. I loved him.

"Me either, Peter." I looked up through a large hole in the ceiling. The stars weren't visible anymore. A thick brown musk coated the sky, it blocked out the sun in daylight too. I looked back at Colossus, he was smiling greatly.

"Well, I love- l-like you..." He gasped slightly, realising what he said. I cupped his chin and kissed him softly, not holding back.

"I love you too, Cherie."
