Ana

It has been four days since we have moved here to crapville and I was bored out of my freaking mind. There was nothing one could do here to relieve their boredom, so I did what any sane person would do with a television. I sprawled across the couch in a pair of tights and a tank top watching TV with a shit load of food.

“-coming up next on America’s-”

“-now we deep fry the-”

“-~smelly cat, smelly cat~-”

“-NO! *bang bang*-”

“Can you stop flipping the flipping channels?” Matt asked coming to sit down as far as he could from me on the couch, subtlety was not his best quality. He had a very smug smile on his face.

“Not funny, at all. Don’t look so smug.”

I grumbled at him and continued flipping through the channels, while I sunk deeper into the comfy puffy couch.

“How come you didn’t pick up Jo today?” I asked still not taking my eyes of the channels.

“She has a meeting so I’m picking her up a little later than usual.”

“Ah.” was my only response as I continued flipping the channels.

“Why is the AC temperature so low? Aren’t you feeling cold?” he asked shivering slightly.

“I don’t ever feel cold.” I told him ominously.

“Ha ha funny.” He grumbled rolling his eyes.

I finally took my eyes of the tv to give him a blank look and he realized I was not joking around and was being dead serious. He looked at me in shock and fear, mostly shock though. “Like you never feel cold?”

I looked back at the pointless moving pictures and thought for a second before I replied.

“Nope, only the heat bothers me, I could swim in a pool of ice and it wouldn’t affect me whatsoever.”
I didn’t have to take my eyes of the TV to know how unsettled he was about the idea.

"Out of everything you have seen me do, the idea that the cold doesn't affect me scares you?" I ask laughing at the idea.

Jo was not around when I cleaned up the mess and ‘stopped’ a few vampires from hunting them. Matt was, by accident, and he had seen exactly what I can do and what I did do to them. That has left him scarred and I knew he feared me, but he respected and owed me more so he trusted me, enough to keep him and the love of his life alive.

He closed his eyes, took two deep breathes before relaxing back into the couch getting comfortable with me, a rare moment to enjoy.

“Weirdo” He whispered, basically saying yes to my question.

Like the well brought up lady that I was, I snorted in reply.

“So what did you do all day other than flip through the channels?”

“I finished installing all the cameras and security alarms. I finished up the basement so our training centre is ready. I also finished marking all the sigils so the house is safe.” I informed him without removing my finger from the remote.

“Sigils?” He asked curiously.

I sighed for a moment and let the sound of the ever changing channels fill the house.

I looked down at the pendant he was wearing, a circular spider web with black thread like wire winding through the strands of the web. A gift, from my sister given to both of them. He followed my line of sight and looked down at the pendant as well.
