I recognize the laughter of my bully and his friends as they punch me. I feel the blood run down my face, and clench my fists by my side.

Trying to fight back won't help anything, because I can't see them. I'm blind.

"Is the little queer scaaarred?" one of them coos, laughter erupting from the others.

Finally they let me go, and run off, laughing. I sit, not sure what to do or where to go.

Eventually I hear footsteps.

"Alec, I-" I recognize the voice of my 16 year old sister, Isabelle. She's also picked on. Because of me.

I'm 18 and blind, gay, and depressed. For those reasons, I'm constantly bullied by the jocks of the school, and whispered about by the popular girls.

Even most of the nerds ignore me. Scratch that, EVERYONE ignores me if they aren't bullying me.

But what for? Why do I get bullied?

To be honest, I don't know anymore. Of course I'm an outcast because I'm blind, but being gay makes that worse. Hence the depression.

My mom deals with me, but I think my dad hates me and just doesn't say it. My little brother used to love me like Isabelle, but... he died due to cancer when I was 16. He was 7.

Yeah, I guess you could say that I have a pretty hard life. Somehow, I get through. I have no idea what I'd do if Izzy ever left my side. She'll have to one day, though. I'll have to find other people. No matter how hard it'll be.
