Marinette opened the fridge, looking for a snack before she started her Pretty Little Liars marathon. She sighed and closed the fridge. Marinette squealed when she saw emerald green eyes staring at her.
"Well hello there beautiful," He winked.
"What do you want, Agreste?" She rolled her eyes, moving away from him and looking through the pantry.
"Marin sent me down to find a snack and you, my dear, look like one," He chuckled.
She felt her cheeks heat up but groaned, "That was terrible."
"Ah come on. It was a good one," He retorted.
"Not really. And besides, I've told you like a million times, I'm not interested," Marinette pulled out the Oreos and turned to face him, "It's never gonna happen, Adrien. Plus, you're my brother's best friend, if it did happen, you'd be dead by the end of the week."
"Only if he found out. Come on, just one little kiss," He stepped forward, pinning her against his body and the pantry door.
"Only in your dreams. Wait, no — not even then," She ducked under his arm and slipped away, "But nice try."
Marinette ran upstairs, slamming her bedroom door. She took a deep breath and laid on her bed, opening her laptop. She quickly went to Netflix and hit play on the first episode of PLL. She opened the oreo container to find that they've all been eaten. "Dammit Marin," Marinette whispered, standing up to throw away the container.
She shut her laptop and ran downstairs to find a new snack. "I knew you'd be back. No one can resist me," Adrien flashed a smile.
"Shut up. I came down because Marin devoured all the Oreos," She snapped, opening the pantry once more.
"Whatever you say, Marinette. Are you going to Nino's party on Friday?" He asked, popping a grape into his mouth.
"Depends, are you going?" Marinette raised her eyebrows.
"I knew you liked me," He smirked, "Yeah, I am."
"Oh, well then no. I guess not," She searched the pantry in hopes of finding something that hasn't been opened by her pig of a brother.
"Ouch, that hurt," He laughed, "I hear it's gonna be the biggest party of the year. With a wide variety of liquor."
She spun around to face him, "Okay. And?"
"And I know Alya's gonna drag your fine ass there. So, see you Friday," He winked, handing her the grape bowl and heading upstairs.
Marinette glared at his fleeting figure and pulled out her phone, texting Alya.
Come over. I'm having boy issues.
She tucked it back into her pocket and walked into the living room, turning on the television. She didn't want to run into Adrien and have him say something in front of Marin. Halfway through her PLL episode, there was a knock on the door. She got up and opened it to see her best friend, Alya.
"Let me guess, Adrien is being a cocky, arrogant flirt," She smiled.
"Precisely," Marinette sighed as the two of them walked into the living room.
"Mari, who's here?" Marin shouted.
"Alya!" She yelled back.
"I wish a hot guy would flirt with me," Alya pouted, sitting on the couch.
"You can have him. He's getting on my nerves. That boy just can't take a hint," Marinette groaned, sitting next to Alya.
"I mean, he is the school's bad boy. The player, the troublemaker. What did you expect?"
"I know. I just didn't think he'd be the guy to flirt with his best friend's little sister."
"Well actually, he's not flirting. He's just trying to get in your pants."
"Exactly! I don't see him that way! Even if I did, I don't want my first time to be a meaningless one night stand."
"Who said it'd be meaningless? One night with me is worth it, my dear," Adrien leaned against the wall, a cocky smile on his face.
"Listen, sweetie," She stood up and faced him, "One night would be tragic. You'd have your way with me and then toss me away like all the rest. I'd end up complaining to Alya how you no longer acknowledge my existence and Marin would overhear. He'd yell at me for being an idiot and then pummel you. So, no. Never will I be interested in you. Understood?"
For a moment, she thought she saw the pain in his eyes. He laughed and the pain was glossed over with amusement, "That's what you say now, but not for long."
He winked and strode out of the living room but Marinette was frozen. Did the Adrien Agreste have actual emotions?
***
"You're imagining things. Adrien Agreste doesn't have emotions. He just doesn't like to be rejected," Alya told her as Marinette grabbed her books from her locker.
"I guess you're right. He'll never have feelings for a girl," Marinette closed her locker and glanced at Adrien, "And definitely not for me."
"You sound a little sad. Do you have a secret crush on Adrien?" She wiggled her eyebrows.
"Ew, as if," Marinette linked arms with Alya as they headed to their class.
"Who do you have a crush on, anyway?" Alya asked as they sat down in homeroom.
"No one," She lied, glancing back at Nathaniel and then looking at Alya, "All the guys at this school suck."
"All of them except Nino. We're going to his party on Friday, right?" Alya leaned closer to Marinette.
"No, I have a test Monday so I'm gonna stay home and study," She answered.
Alya laughed, "Let me rephrase: we're going to Nino's party on Friday, okay?"
Marinette rolled my eyes, "Alya, I really can't."
"You can and you will," Alya glared at Marinette.
"Fine," She sighed, "But if Adrien starts pestering me, I'm going home."
"Deal," Alya stuck out her hand, "But drunk Marinette is a little less uptight."
"Which is exactly why drunk Marinette won't be making an appearance," Marinette shook her hand.
"That's what you say now," Alya winked, facing forward as the bell rung.
