After a while, Marinette stood up, starting to feel her heart race as time went on. "I have to go."

"Where are you going, sis?" Marin asked.

"I ... promised Mom I'd help out in the bakery today," Marinette lied.

Marinette felt Adrien's eyes on her and his smirk burning into her.

"Oh, okay. We're gonna go to the movies later if you wanna tag along," Marin informed her.

"Okay, yeah, sure. Uh, bye guys." Marinette waved, awkwardly leaving the table.

She'd have to pay her brother back for her coffee. She walked down the street and hid in the nearest alley, breathing deeply.

"You seem flustered. I didn't know I had that effect on you," Adrien's voice spoke, appearing in front of her.

Marinette squealed, startled by his appearance. She took a breath and shook her head, "I'm not flustered. I was just scared my brother was going to see you with your hand on my thigh and flip."

He chuckled, shaking his head slightly.

"Why were you even doing that? I'm not going to sleep with you. You can use all the fake charm you want, Adrien. You will never win my heart and I will never sleep with you," Marinette stated, walking away to get away from him and trying to decide if she'd go to the Eiffel Tower tonight or not.

Marinette sighed, sitting on the edge of the top of the tower. "You came," She heard Adrien say from behind her. They were both out of costume even though it would be safer if they were.

"Yeah, I did. Um, why did you want me to come here?" She stood up, facing him.

"This way we could be alone and not have to worry about anyone finding out," He smiled, taking her hands.

Marinette slowly pulled them away and his smile dropped, "What did you want to talk about?"

"Um, I ... I wanted to ask you out. On a date. But ... after what was said today, I realize now what you're gonna say." He bit his lip.

She stayed silent, "Why are you doing this?"

"Doing what?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.

"Pretending to like me!"

"I'm not pretending."

"You are so frustrating! You're a player, Adrien! You break people's hearts without a care in the world! You don't have feelings! Especially not for me! I'm not different or special, I'm your best friend's little sister! You only like me because you can't have me! Or maybe it's because I'm Ladybug, the hero of Paris. And all you care about is how I look and the fact that I'm a 'celebrity'."

"That's not true!"

"I don't have time for this. Tikki, spots on!"

As Marinette prepared to leave, Adrien grabbed her wrist, "Marinette, please. Give me a chance."

"I can't. I can't set myself up to be hurt," She freed herself from his grasp and left.

Marinette leaned against her locker as Alya rambled about her date with Nino. She wasn't really listening as she watched Adrien with Chloe, his arm wrapped around her shoulders. A smile plastered on her caked face as he kissed her cheek.

"What's the deal with Adrien and Chloe?" Marinette asked, turning to Alya as Adrien glanced in her direction.

"You haven't heard? They're dating," Alya closed her locker.
