Marinette paced in her bedroom. It had been a week since the dinner with Adrien and her parents still haven't given her answer. They had said they needed time to discuss and speak to Marin.
"Any news yet?" Chat Noir asked, entering her room.
"No, and you shouldn't be here," Marinette sighed, sitting on her bed.
"I know. I just wanted to check on you," He smiled.
"That's sweet, thank you," She kissed him.
"It's gonna be okay, Marinette."
"What if they say no?"
"Then they say no and we stay friends."
"But I don't want to be just friends," Marinette frowned.
"Neither do I, buginette." He hugged her, laying his cheek on the top of her head.
"If they say no, you do know you can date other girls right? It's not like I'll be asking you to wait for me."
"I know, Marinette. And I - I can't promise I'll wait for you because that never turns out well but I will wait." He sighed.
"That was ... kind of confusing but sweet, I think." She giggled.
"Marinette! Can you come down for a moment, dear?" Sabine called.
"I'll be right back, don't go anywhere." Marinette raced down the stairs, almost falling a few times.
"Yes, Mama?" Marinette smiled, entering the living room.
"Your father and I have talked," Marinette felt her heart begin to race, "And we can't ignore the fact that Adrien has greatly hurt you."
Marinette felt her heart stopped, tears stinging her eyes. She stared down at her shoes.
"However," Marinette looked up, "We know Adrien has demons at home and that he is a sweet boy in his heart. And so, we've decided you and Adrien can continue dating."
Marinette squealed, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
Tom and Sabine smiled as Marinette ran upstairs.
She leaped into Chat's arms as soon as she was safely in her room, "They said yes."
"Wait, really?" Chat furrowed his brows.
"Geez, could you sound a little less disappointed?" She scoffed, dropping down to the floor.
"No, no, no. I just mean, I really thought they were gonna say no? I thought Marin was going to say something really bad about me." Chat sat on her chaise.
"Oh. Well, I don't know. Maybe Marin realized how important you are to me and got over his shit," She smiled, sitting next to him.
Marinette rested her head on Chat's shoulder, "I love you."
"I love you, too, Marinette,"
