Marinette walked through her front door, holding Adrien's hand.

"Mama, Papa! I'm back!" Marinette called, stepping further into the house.

"Okay, dinner's almost ready. Can you help set the table?"

"Sure!" She turned to Adrien, "Wait here."

"Um, Mama, Papa, is Marin home?" Marinette asked, grabbing the plates.

"He's out with his friend, Nathaniel." Sabine answered.

"Okay, well there's something I need to tell you guys," Marinette sighed after placing the plates on the table.

"What is it?" Tom asked, standing next to his wife.

Marinette stepped out of the room and returned momentarily with Adrien.

"I'm dating Adrien," Marinette told them, holding Adrien's hand.

"You're what? Seriously, Marinette? After everything he put you through?" Marin's voice seethed from behind her.

Marinette quickly turned around, "Yes."

" 'Yes'? That's all you have to say?" Marin snapped.

"I don't have to explain myself to you," Marinette retorted.

"Mari, he never even tried to talk to you after everything that happened." Marin growled.

"Yes, I did. You wouldn't let me. I tried countless times, Marin, and you know it." Adrien scoffed.

"Fine, fucking fine. Be an idiot, Marinette. I don't care," Marin stormed upstairs, slamming his door.

"Marinette, what was that all about?" Sabine asked.

"I can explain. But you have to keep an open mind. Promise?" Marinette sighed, turning to face them.

Sabine and Tom looked at each other then back to Marinette, "Promise. Take a seat, Adrien. Stay for dinner."

"Um, okay," He sat down next to Marinette.

Sabine and Tom stayed silent for a few moments.

"Please, say something, " Marinette whined, squeezing Adrien's hand.

"Well, that is ... a lot to take in." Sabine finally spoke.

"I know. And I'm truly sorry for the pain I caused your daughter," Adrien glanced at Marinette, "And if you don't want me to date your daughter, I will respect that and keep my distance from her."
