Most people have the luxury to wake up to the sound of birds chirping. They also had sunshine filtering in through their curtains. They would smell coffee brewing. They would hear the bacon sizzling in the pan in the kitchen that their mom was making especially for them.
I wasn't that lucky. I woke up to the sound of thunder, and the only light shining through my windows was the spurts of lightening. I didn't have a coffee maker or any kind of cooking utensil in general. I am hardly ever home enough to cook, or any thing like that since I am always so busy with work.
*BEEP BEEP BEEP* *CRASH!*
I turned off my alarm, and made sure of the time. It was in fact 6 A.M. and time for me to get ready to go to work in this stinking rain. I walked to my closet and pulled out the typical outfit for work. A green, white, and red plaid shirt with a black bow tucked into a white sparkly pencil skirt. I was going to wear heels with my outfit, but since it was raining outside I decided to wear my rain boots to the office. Once I got there, I would trade them for my heels.
I grab my umbrella from the stand next to the door, and my rain jacket from hook and walk outside. I lock up my apartment and start heading down the street to meet with my best friend. I lock up my apartment and start heading down the street to meet with my best friend. Pretty much every morning my best friend Kiva Daniels and I would meet at a little cafe down the street. It is the cutest little cafe, called Paper and Cup. I would grab a caramel cappuccino with a shot of vanilla, and an apple fritter. She would usually get hot chocolate with an glazed doughnut.
As I get to the cafe, I close my umbrella because the rain has turned into a a light sprinkle. Then the sky seems to open up only for me to become soaking wet. I groaned as I tried to run as fast as I could to get into the cafe where it was dry and warm. I shook off my umbrella right outside, and shook myself as I began to look around for Kiva. She was on our usual couch in the back of the cafe. She appeared to be nursing a cup of hot chocolate, and she had a glazed doughnut in front of her.

"Hey Kiva, how are you doing this fine morning?" I tried to sound cheery, but I sounded dead.
"I am doing very well. I am waiting for my best friend to show up because you know she's never late." Kiva looked up at me with a sweet smile on her face, but her eyes had a mischievous look to them.
"Well I am going to go get my usual, and then we can gossip about our latest conquest when I come back." I said with a smile on my face. I walked up to the counter, and ordered my favorite from the barista. He had brown eyes, and the darkest black hair that I had ever seen. He was kind of cute, but definitely not my type.
"Have a nice day!" he said with a bright smile, as he handed me my order. I thanked him, and hurried back to the couch where Kiva was watching the interaction.
