Chapt 3

It was mid afternoon when it happened, the moment that would alter everything forever. It seemed rather weird that something so big could happen on such a dull day.
It was quiet in the room, much too quiet for everyone's liking. If it continues any longer than it will become quite awkward, Merlin thought to himself.
Merlin never actually thought this day would come, the moment he reveals himself. Well not entirely, only to Uther, Gauise and the trusted advisors whom were in the room... and Merlin of course. But not Arthur, no not Arthur.
Suddenly the silence was broken by the king himself, "Gauise can you please explain to me why you asked  to speak to me, than made me sit in silence waiting for you too speak? I am a busy man after all, I have wars to win and a kingdom to run. Do you wish to distract me from my duties?"
"No I would wish not sire. I'm here because I found what you asked me too regarding Morgana." Gauise looked toward the advisors than back to Uther asking if he may continue with what he was about to say.
Uther looked from Gauise to his advisors as if questioning it himself. Finally he spoke in somewhat of a sigh, "ah yes Gauise you may as well continue, they were sure to find out eventually." He looked back at Gauise then for the first time his eyes fell on the tall awkward figure standing next to him... Merlin.
"What is he doing here? I don't see as to why a servant has any right to be here."
"Well sire he helped find an answer to your problem. It's only fitting that he here considering..... well, con-considering  he is the solution to your problem." Gauise was unsure of what was to come next. The whole room was stiff with silence.
"Alright, explain. I'm afraid I'm not following." There was something behind Uthers voice that Merlin heard. He knew perfectly well what Gauise said, he just didn't want to believe it. Guise started to speak again, "I said he is the solution to our problem. He is the -the..." he couldn't quite muster up the courage to possibly condemn Merlin.
"Sorcerer, I am a sorcerer." Merlin's voice rang throughout the vast room sinking heavier and heavier on everyone with each silent second that passed.
"I heard a lot about you Merlin from Arthur. I heard you were a fool who spends most of his time at the tavern but I never heard anything about you being a liar. Gauise are you trying to make a fool of me? You can't possibly expect that Merlin is a sorcerer."
Gauise couldn't say a thing. So Merlin spoke up.
"It's true, I have magic!  I've always had magic... I was born with it. I never wanted it. It's just a part of me. Here I'll show you."
Merlin whispered something under his breath and suddenly the light pouring in from the stain glass windows danced around the room in the shape of a unicorn and was gone as soon as it appeared.
Then it hit. What he just did. He revealed himself. It was a weird feeling that came shortly after. He wasn't happy, he felt.... lighter  as if a huge weight had been lifted off his chest.
"It can't be...." Uther abruptly stood out of his chair. He looked from Gauise to Merlin, a look of betrayal running deep within his eyes. "Your telling me that a sorcerer has been under my nose the whole time? Serving my son. How could you? I trusted you Gauise." Uther spat with fierceness drowning his words. What's that saying? If words can kill. Oh wait they can.
Before Merlin knew what was happening arms reached for him grabbing him by the arms and knees. His hands were chained, he tried to move but he couldn't. He was stuck.
Gauise was able to speak once he fully processed what was happening. "Sire! You promised. You promised that whomever sorcerer I chose would be safe. How is Merlin different? Are you not a man of your word?"
"Gauise that's where you are right. I am a man of my word and my word is that all sorcerers in my kingdom shall be burned at first light. I trusted you Gauise and you betrayed me! I want you gone, out of Camelot for good by tomorrow's end. You may stay for the execution so you can see what you've forced me to do."
Merlin was dragged out of the room and down the hallway to the dungeons.

Half way down the hall a very familiar voice ran after him. "Merlin? Merlin hey what..... what is going on?!" It was Arthur.
Arthur ran after them. He rounded the corner to see his servant, his friend being thrown into a cell like a rag doll. "What on earth is going on here?" He addressed to the guards. "Release him at once."
The taller guard was the first to speak, "we are under strict rules to not let any visitors near the criminal. If his last wish before tomorrow to be to talk to you than you may speak."
Arthur had no clue as to what was going on. All he knew was that his only friend was locked up in a cell with no clear explanation. "What do you mean by last wish and what the bloody hell is he even, unfairly I may add , charged with?!"
"He is charged with treason and being a sorcerer. He will be burned tomorrow at first light for his crimes."
"This is bloody ridiculous!" Arthur then turned to Merlin, "I will get you out of this. This is insane." And so Arthur left to go find his father to reason with. Little did Arthur know that there was no getting out of it. There was no hope, no reasoning. He showed who he really was and now he will be killed. Merlin knew this time that there was nothing to be done. So he shut his eyes and let the the blissful darkness  engulf him.

Yes I know that wasn't the best chapter. I'm sorry if it's not as good as the others! I will make sure to update on Wednesday with a better chapter. But how do you like so far? Did you expect that to happen? What do you predict will come next?
