A Deadly Attraction

Part 9

Neji's P.O.V.

"W-what do we do?"Asked Hinata, almost shaking in fear.

"We either leave, or if they don't we wait for the other ninjas to come and help make a p-" I was cut off by (Y/N)

"Neji look ou-" something small hit her arm. If she wasn't there, the small thing would have hit me square in the heart. She held out two arms, trying to balance herself as she took two wavering steps, then collapsed. I dove forward and caught her limp body

"(Y/N)!" Hinata screamed.

"All the Hyugas! Make a hole and get all of the Youdoko's back as fast as you can!" I yelled over the sudden gasps and shouting. Thankfully some of my friends begun to shown up.

"Hey, whats's going on?" Asked Shikamaru and Naruto.

"No time to explain. Help get the people covered in wrappings to the Hyuga household and check to see if any were injured." The both nodded then  disappeared. 

"I-is she-"

"I don't know." I leaned over, hovering my ear mere millimeters from her nose. 

"She's still breathing but just barley. Byakugon."I looked (Y/N) Up and down and saw the small pinprick point begin to give off a discolored chakra, attaching itself to her cells.

"Neji, whats wrong w-" Tsunade said, reaching for (Y/N).

"Don't touch her! you'll get poisoned. There's something in her arm covered in some sort of toxin."

"Where?" I began to hastily pulling at the wrappings around her arm until it was free.

"Alright, do you have something we can grab the needle with?"Hinata leaned in. She had her hand covered by her extra long sleeve and head delicately removed the needle.

"Lets see if this helps." Lady Tsunade had placed her hands over (Y/N)'s arm and soon they were emitting a green glow. I waited there in agonizing patience. Tsunade grew concentrated look, and soon a small drop of something came out of the pinprick in (Y'N)'s arm.

That should be most of it. Lets bring her somewhere less crowded." I nodded, picking up (Y/N) gently, cradling her head in the crook of my neck, and practically sprinting back to my house.

"She appears to have been hit with a toxin that mimic that of her own."Said Lady Tsunade.

"What?" Asked Hiashi.

"To put it simply, someone made a poison that was similan to the Youdoku's clan and had shot (Y/N) With it.

"Why would someone wan't to do that?" Asked Elder Aie. I looked down, my hands in fists on my lap.

"They weren't trying to hit her, they were trying to hit me..."

"But why would some do something like that?" Asked Hiashi, not making eye contact with me.

"My best guess is that some group that hates the Youdoku clan had tried to make it look like they were poisoning a Hyuga to start a riot or get them kicked out of the village." Said Tsunade, looking at (Y/N). She was perfectly still, her chest barley rising and falling from breathing.

"I-Is there a-anything we can d-do to help her?" Asked Hinata.

"If we had their natural antidote, a Jack-in-the-pulpit, we cold make a tea for her to ingest that would hopefully counteract the poison."

"(Y-Y/N) has one of those on he-" Before Hinata could finish er sentence, I was already up and walking towards her room. I slid open the door and immediately checked the side table. There rolled 6 small vases of maroon and white flower. I held the small vase in my hand and found one of the servants.

"I need you to boil this in some water. Once it's ready, bring it to the main room. Don't touch the flower or the water it's boiled in, it is a very poisons flower." The servant nodded and quickly made their way to the kitchen. I made my way back into the the room and sat down. 

"One of the servants is making the tea, It should be ready any time now." I said. Tsunade let out a sigh of relife. 

"Good." There was a knock on the door. It slid opened and there was Shikamaru.

"Hokage, we found the men responsible for the poisoning of (Y/N)."

"Great job Shikamaru. Go bring them to my office. I'll deal with them there." Tsunade waved good by and left, but soon came the Servant with the tea.

"Neji." I looked up towards Hiashi..

"Yes Uncle?"

"I'm placing you in charge of (Y/N)'s care."

"Yes Uncle." Everyone except Elder Aie and Hinata stayed behind. I gently lifted up (Y/N) so she was leaning up against my leg. I tilted her head up sligly and fed her some tea. Once the cup was empty, I sat there as still as a statue, waiting for some form of change.

"Nnnnnngggg....." Groaned (Y/N), rolling over and falling onto my chest. I wrapped one arm around her and smiled. 

"Thank god."

"Hmmm..." She murmured.

"N-nothing." I looked away as I felt my cheeks go warm.

"Well, seeing as (Y/N) is in good hands, I belive it is time for me to retire for the night. Goodnight Hinata. Goodnight Neji." We had both told the elder goodnight and I had carried (Y/N) to her room.

"I-if you need anything, j-just let me know." Said Hinata. 

"Thank you.I will." I nodded towards her and placed (Y/N) down on the bed.

"W...what... happened..." She said through exhausted breaths."

"You were hit in the arm with a needle covered in a poison that mimicked your own and had gotten very sick. We made you some tea out of your flowers. so now you are extremely exhausted and are going to spend a few days on bed rest." We sat there in silence as I pulled up a chair next to her bedside.

"Sounds... fun..." I chuckeled.

"Look at you. On the verge of death and still cracking jokes." She let out a faint laugh

"Wheres... your hand..." she asked, looking over at me.

"Right here." I said, holding it out in front of her. She slowly reached forward and grasped it.

"Good...It's my... Hand.. warmer... now..." I smiled softly at her touch and wrapped my had around hers.

"Night... Neji..." She whispered as she had slowly fallen asleep. I propped my head against my hand, touching my forehead to hers.

"Good Night, (Y/N)."
