Through out the rest of the night, you and Rin flip flopped between the project and other pieces of homework. Your smile had disappeared, and you were in intense work mode. Rin wouldn't be able to bring it back for the rest of day.
The next morning, as Demetri got you to the gate, you spotted Rin and Yukio talking to one another with a group of three girls practically stalking Yukio. You rolled your eyes at them, pulled the sleeves to your baggy hoody to your fingertips, and walked over to the two twin brothers.
"Hi, guys. Is Shiemi not here now? I have tips from Demtri that she asked for." You asked them.
"I haven't seen her yet. She normally gets here a little before homeroom starts." Rin told me.
"Well, I have to go. There's a faculty meeting in a few minutes." Yukio left you with his brother.
You sat next to Rin who was peacefully eating what you believed to be ramen noodles. You handed him a muffin that you grabbed off your counter. He looked at you, and you noticed the question that was starting to form on his mouth.
"Demetri made it. I grabbed it thinking I was hungry. I'm not." You explained.
"Thank you, (L/N)." Rin said.
"Call me (Y/N), Rin." You told him.
"Anyway, thanks." Rin smiled at you.
You two sat in silence for a while. You guessed he was waiting for Shiemi also, but that wasn't the case. You had Demetri's notes on gardening tips in your journal that you planned to give to Shiemi.
Before long, it was almost time for homeroom to start, and Shiemi was no where to be found. You started to think something was wrong, and by the look you saw on Rin, you could tell he was thinking the same thing.
You walked into homeroom which happened to be your first class with Rin. As you went from class to class, you didn't hear anything from the teacher's mouths that day. All you could think about was if Shiemi was in trouble.
Did something happen to her? Did something attack her that I don't know of? Stop worrying so much, (Y/N). If you're so worried, then go to her house.
"Juin, can you please stop doing that? It gets on people's nerves!" You scolded her.
By people, you actually mean yourself. I'm a telepathic daemon. What am I supposed to do?
"I have a terrific idea. I'm going to make daemon stew." You muttered quietly, but Juin still heard.
Juin sat up perching on the railing in the courtyard. She stood like it was an achievement that she was still here and alive. Granted this may be true since you're like the combination of like that creepy emotion vampire clown from the original Ben 10 series and Erza Scarlet. It won't happen again, ma'am.
"I sure hope so." You say as you felt someone throw their arm around your shoulders.
You ignited your purple flames in your hand and turned towards the person. He held up his hands, but you could still the blackish blue hair the culprit had. "You scared me, Rin!"
"I scared you. I thought you would murder me with that look and your fire." Rin said still shielding his eyes.
You looked at your purple flames and dispersed it. The flame evaporated without smoke remaining near your hand. Your bandages were burnt and that meant you had to go to the nurse's office.
"What's wrong with your hand?" Rin took your burnt up hand in his.
You bit your lip. "Oh, that. It's natural."
"What do you mean?" He asked you.
"It's a side effect of being a Greco-Roman demon. My purple flames burn me. Didn't you listen to me when I explained it to you?" You asked him.
He hesitated to answer you before grabbing your wrist. "That doesn't matter. Let's get you to Yukio, so he could bandage your hands up."
"But I was planning on going to see where Shiemi is." You told him.
"You can do that afterwards. C'mon." Rin said.
You know I didn't want to make your flames damage you in the beginning, but I thought hey why not. Plus, it is a crucial part of information for the plot.
