Lux awoke to the sound of the robotic announcer. It was only 4 in the morning, and with only two hours of sleep, she got up and out. A long way from home, whether it was a mistake or not, she definitely will never go back.

But there was something, Lux didn't understand, there's something...

She wasn't the only one. Another girl, along another front... Janna felt the disruption. There was another.

Janna jolted up from bed. She had to act now before something serious happens. Her familiar, Zephyr knew what was going on, too. It appeared, and got right to work on Janna's attire, while she made a barrier for her daughter, to keep her safe while she went out.

The two worked well and efficiently together. It was expected after bonding over so many years.

Zephyr locked its eyes on Janna. Zephyr didn't talk to communicate, but Janna understood everything.

"It starts again..." Janna said that line with pain under her breathe.

She was one of the many girls who were chosen to be a Star Guardian. It was a cycle they were trapped into following. Sign their lives away, fight off evil, and die young. That's their routine. Except for her.

Janna got to the ripe age of 32. It was very odd, since the life expectance of a magical girl was at tops, 21. And that's only because that's the maximum age to become one.

She fucking hated this. But she knew that if a few other girls along with her suffered, the rest of the planet wouldn't. They were trading their lives for everyone else.

After locking up her place, she left in her white mustang and anger under her peaceful demeanor.

"Time to find her before... heaven knows who else finds her."

Lux was on a path she didn't even know about, or even why she was going. There was just something leading her to this way, and it brought her to a park. A cute, empty park. It was kind of a given, seeing as the sun hasn't even come up and out yet.

It was kind of nostalgic. It brought her back to times as a child and playing around here. Even the peculiar girl she ran into.

And in one grin, Lux felt the happiness evoke something within her. She was filled with a bright light, but it was different this time... It was an odd sensation running through her. And this time, she wasn't going to run...

All her life, she never let her powers be free. But now, she wouldn't let herself be scared of... herself. That's what they were. Her powers were just another part of her.

Sudden flashes of lights in star shapes flashed all around her body, as she began glowing. Lux never remembered this happening, but she embraced it, nonetheless. Her clothes morphed away into a new, sailor-like outfit. With a few shiney accessories forming from the stars that materialized around her, and an eye-popping pink hair color, Lux's transformation had completed.

"weird..."

Once it stopped, Lux took a good look at her new self. She was completely anew, from head-to-toe, it was almost like a different person...

She was so lost, but she felt so excited, too! Because how many times do you get to transform into a pink-haired protagonist of a shoujo?

It wasn't over, yet. Descending from above was a star, and as it got close to Lux, it bursted into the shape of a staff.

It wasn't the only thing, as a paper materialized out of thin air.

As it slowly dropped to the floor, Lux picked it up to see what this was about. Lo and behold, it was a Magical Girl Recruiting Contract. It took a couple of reads for her to actually understand, but she finally got the gist.

She were to take the pledge and be blessed by the First Star to fight off all the threats that come their planet's way. And Lux didn't hesitate to sign her name after. But after dotting her name on the page, a sudden voice surprised Lux from behind.

"It seems you're the girl I'm looking for"

Just as Lux arrived to the park, Janna arrived on the other end. It was pretty easy to find her, with a massive, illuminating pink light radiating from above.

Janna parted her way through the mist, Zephyr leading the way, creating a light source to guide them through.

It wasn't long before they reached her. They arrived as soon as she finished the contract signing.

"It seems you're the girl I'm looking for. And guessing from your staff, you've just signed the contract."

Lux was very confused at the sudden events, and Janna could tell.

"Well, I guess I should explain. I am one of your allies, I suppose. A Star Guardian is never alone, and there are probably, if not definitely, other girls that will join us soon."

"Then I guess we should get along, then! Hi, I'm Lux!"

"Hello, dear. I'm Janna. Maybe we should discuss this at a more, formal place?"
