Lux yawned, beginning to do some stretches after waking up. It's officially been two days since she's come here.
The first were the previous chapters, and the second was spent learning all about Valoran City. From getting new clothes, to redecorating her room, they were pretty good days.
But the issue came when Janna wanted to enroll Lux into school again.
Lux was a runaway. She didn't have her ID, or anything. And Janna didn't have permission to even have Lux living with her.
"Lux, I'd like to talk to you." Janna appeared at the doorway.
"Yes? Is something wrong?"
"Well, yes. You see, I must meet your parents."

Lux didn't exactly like this, but she knew it was the right thing to do.
Lux, Janna and Lulu were all in the car for a drive over to Lux's family.
She really wasn't looking forward to this. When she left, she meant it. But she had confidence in Janna.
Janna had inspired Lux so much just from her presence.
The rest of the road trip was just small talk now and then. Nothing interesting happened. Just everyone, but LuLu, being uncomfortable with this situation.
But, they had to address the present situation, before it becomes too problematic later on.

They finally got there after a good few hours. LuLu was so bored she ended up falling asleep, twice. As soon as she woke up, she fell right back to sleep.
Well there Lux was, walking back through the alabaster archway, where this all started. With a sigh, she walked through.
One ring on the doorbell, and one wait later, Lux's mother opened up in shock.
"Lux? Oh my god, I was beginning to think I'd lose you forever!"

A little later, everyone got situated. Lux's parents, Lux, and Janna all sat down to have a discussion. LuLu went to play with the family's dog, Prince.
"No." To both Janna and Lux's disappointment, her father sternly disagreed with allowing Lux to stay with Janna.
"I'm not going to allow this. Lux, you must come back now, and that's final."
Lux lowered her head. What did I expect?
But Janna did the opposite. She straightened her posture more, and continued.
"Sir, I want to help Lux. It's not just because she doesn't want to live with you anymore, but it's about her magic."
Her mother scoffed. "Magic? That will only serve her and our downfall."
"Revealing her magic might be detrimental to your reputation, but concealing her powers will be catastrophic to the locals. Lux never had the life to let her powers grow and prosper, and because of it, her powers became lethal."
Both of her parents really began paying attention to Janna now.
"So I would like to take her under my wings to teach her about herself, and how to be in absolute control over her powers. So please, would you allow her to stay with me?"
Her parents exchanged a glance, but before they could speak, Lux wanted to put her mind out.
"Mom, I want to use magic. All this time, you always pushed me into hiding it, but now I see that there are people out there who use magic. Not for malicious intents, but for the good they can do with it! I want to be able to use this gift to help others! I use to beat myself up over this, but now, I see the beauty of magic... and I just want you to know that this is what I want to pursue. I've finally found a direction in life, and I hope you'd allo-"
"Fine... Janna, I'll trust you can take care of her?" Lux's parents cut her off, and she couldn't be any more happier.

After exchanging contact info with Janna, Lux's parents sent them off in a final farewell.
She gathered her things from the house, and boarded up in the car.
LuLu was sad to have to split apart from the dog, but she complied when they said they were going to eat.
And in the car ride, Janna had something to say to Lux. "Today, I'm very proud of you. We haven't known each other long, but I can tell that you really do mean well. You'll have a bright future as a Star Guardian." Janna whispered the last part so LuLu didn't hear.
"Aw, thanks so much. I wanted to say thank you, too. You've encouraged me, and inspired me since Day 1, and I really owe it to you for giving me the courage to not run away... I'm really happy we met."
"I am, too."
"2018.4.12"
"The burgers here are really good. Are you sure you don't wanna try?"
"Oh, no thank you. I don't really like messy food."

"May I get more of the burgers to go? 5 sounds good?"
