Koshy-Dobrik house.

Today we were leaving to go to Chicago. We decided that since my mom just came to visit us, we would go see David's family for thanksgiving. Aspen was currently playing in her playpen while David and I packed. You would think it would be only two suitcases but with us and Aspen it ended up being three. Along with her stroller, car seat and the backpack full of snacks for her, blankets and toys.

"I think we are almost packed we just need to get the cold weather coats. I want to bring a lot of cold weather clothes for her because Chicago is already cold at this time of year."

David nodded and grabbed her cute pink winter coat along with ours. "Alright, you ready?"

"Yep. I'll grab Asp and then let's go to Chicago!"

I left the room and went to go get my daughter. "Hi little princess, you ready to go on your first plane?" I cooed. She babbled in response and I smiled. When we got to the airport, immediately people started to notice us. Normally we would take pictures but today we had Aspen with us and being with a baby in an airport is stressful enough.

"Okay let's get through security, and then we will find some food." David said lifting our luggage onto to the row for the x-ray.

"Next in line". David went first. After he went through, they waved me forward. Asp and I walked through without issue and continued to the other side. "So we are in gate 33-B and that's close to a food court." I said staring up at the monitor. Just then Aspen started to whisper. "Your okay baby girl. As soon as we get some food you can relax." So we got some food from Einstein bagels and then walked to our gate. We found some seats in the corner so we could fit all of our bags and have a little wiggle room. Little did we know that Aspen would start screaming later.

"Attention all passengers flying from Los Angeles, California to Chicago, Illinois. We will begin boarding now for passengers with a child under the age of two and first class. "That's us." David told me as I wasn't listening and focused on my daughter. I nodded and picked Aspen up and set her on my hip as we went to the boarding line. I pulled out my phone just in time at the front of the line to show the man my ticket, and then he asked me about Asp. "Is she going to be a lap child?" I nodded and then put my phone back in my pocket as I continued into the long hallway to get to the plane.

We settled in our first class seats, (David's parents treat) and immediately Apsen wanted to get out of the seat and be on the ground. "No honey, you have to sit in my lap. Do you want your bottle?" Immediately she calmed down and I got her bottle with milk out. Like a good girl she began to drink her milk and settled right as the plane began to move. When we took off she began to cry. "Shhhh I know." I tried calming her down but the passenger in front of us decided to give me a hard time. "Could you control your child? Gosh!"

"I am trying, but she is only six months old and it's her first on a plane. She doesn't like how her ears feel and on top of that she's got asthma. So thank you but I can parent myself.

Turning my attention back to Aspen, I successfully got her to sleep and she slept for the entire plane ride. Even better, she slept through getting our bags, getting a car and getting to David's parents house. "Hey baby girl, it's time to wake up. We are at your cousins Lily, Esther and Toby's house. Slowly she woke up and David's dad helped us with the luggage. "How are you Liza?" His mom asked.

"I'm good, it's been a good few months. This little one is doing good." I replied moving Aspens curls out of her face. "May I hold her?" She asked. I smiled and placed my daughter in her arms. "Well hello Ms. Aspen. The last time I saw you, you were so little. Your already so big! Now as your Grandma I have to spoil you rotten so expect to be getting lots of presents from me over the years.

After she was done holding her, I took Aspen to go see her cousins. "Can we hold her now?" Lily asked. "Of course honey. Just be gentle."

"Hi Aspen. Do you remember me? I'm Lily. And when you get older we are definitely going to play together. Can you say "Lily?"." There was a pause as Lily waited for a response. Since she couldn't talk yet she just giggled and reached for Esther.

"Hi cutie! Do you want to sit with me?" Esther sat down on the ground and bounced Aspen. Turned out she loved it. "You like that sweetheart?" I laughed. "Esther will you watch her please? I'll be back." She nodded and then the siblings began to play with Aspen and letting her reach for toys. I exited the room and went to find David. "Hey!" David said seeing me. He gave me a kiss on the forehead and wrapped his arm around me. "I was thinking about our wedding just now." He confessed. "What about it?"

"I want to get married to you on New Years. We have enough time and it'll be right after our two year anniversary which is in a couple days. I smiled and kissed him. "I like that idea. When should we tell everybody?"

"How about at dinner?" He suggested. So we did just that.

"Can we have your attention?" David spoke over the people at the table right before we began to eat. Seeing as David was going to make the announcement, I stood up and grabbed his hand.

"We have an announcement to make." I began.

"Oh god your not pregnant already are you?" David's dad asked. Everyone laughed. "No we aren't pregnant, we wanted to officially tell you and invite you to our wedding on New Years. January 1st 2018." David concluded. Everyone was super happy and congratulations were made. "Okay let's eat!" I said passing the turkey to David's mom. So we ate, and we had the second best thanksgiving we've had ever.

"Hey is this gonna be a tradition?" Esther asked.

"What do you mean Esther?" I responded curiously.

"Well last year, you told us that you were pregnant with Aspen. This year you just told us you guys are getting married. So what's next year?"

"I don't know, you'll have to wait and see" David laughed ruffling her hair. Who knew what next year would be, or what the future held....
