Chapter 6
I run in just as the late bell rings.
“I apologize for my tardiness.” I say to Ms. Carnose as I get to my seat.
“Ok. Don’t let it happen again.”
I take out my notebook and essay as Ms. Carnose addresses the entire class. “Alright class, please take out the essay due today. No excuses.”
As Ms. Carnose starts around the classroom I take a look at my essay and freeze.I quickly mash it behind my back just as Ms. Carnose gets to my table. “Julie, your essay.”
“Sorry, I don’t have it.”
“Yes you do, I saw you take it out a moment ago!”
“No. I don’t have it.” She quickly takes the paper from my hand. “Wait!”
“This is it. What were you trying to do Julie?”
Huh? “Let me see it please.” I look at it and It’s back to my essay.“Ok.” I say a little shakily. I hand her the essay and she moves on.
What is happening to me? Am I going crazy?
When Class ends, me and Olivia are walking down the hallway to our next class. I stop in front of the front stairs as Olivia opens the door. “You coming?” She asks.
I say “I’ll take the back staircase, there will be a lot less traffic.” What I don’t say i how much I need to be alone right now .
“okay.”
I head through the door of the back staircase. Before I can begin to sort stuff out in my mind I hear a low voice behind me.
“Juuuuuuuuuuuuuulieeeeeeeeeeeeee. . . It’s all your fault.”
I Quickly turn around to see nothing. “Who’s there!?!?” Must be my imagination again. Heh, heh.
“You didn’t help me because you were scared…”
“What!! What’s that??!! Who’s there!!?” I’m getting desperate now and my hands start shaking.
“You want to forget me? You were the one who said YOU NEEDED ME!”
A drop of blood falls on my arm and when I look behind me I see Rebecca, who is very angry.
“Rebecca?!”
“Didn’t you say you needed me!?”
“I’M SORRY!”
“YOU DARE TELL THE WORLD YOU’RE GOING TO FORGET ME?!!!!”
Then she shoves me down the stairs.
(Ms. Carnose POV)
Me and my student Jolissa were walking down the stairs. “Jolissa we need to talk about that project”
“I know Ms-” She stops and gasps, “Hey isn’t that a girl!?”
I turn my head to see the bloody and half unconscious Julie lying at the bottom of the stairs. “JULIE?!” We frantically run to Julie’s side.
“What happened? Did you fall?” Jolissa asks Julie.
Julie replies very weakly, “ I… was… pushed…”
“By who?”
“ Re-Rebeca.”
“Wait… isn’t that the dead girl?” Jolissa turns to me, “Is she crazy?”
“Never mind that,” I Yell, “get help!”
(Back to Julie’s POV)
Just as I’m about to fall unconscious I see Rebecca standing next to Ms. Carnose, grinning.
