-homeostasis is the regulation of an internal environment

-negative feedback is the counteraction to changes in the body that differ from a set point

-thermoregulation is the process of maintaining a steady body temperature

-sweating and shivering are mechanisms used to regulate temperature

-osmoregulation is the process of maintaining water and salt concentrations within the body

-the nervous system is a connected network of cells, tissues and organs that control thoughts, movement and simple processes within the body

-reacts to stimulus and compensates for it

-the respiratory system controls gas exchange within the body

-regulates the amount of carbon dioxide in the body

-if homeostasis is disrupted then a person may get sick and die

-thermoregulation

-once the body temperature is normal the actions stop

-blood sugar regulation

   -hormones used:

-insulin → lowers blood sugar by storing sugar in cells

-glucagon → raises blood sugar by releasing sugar from cells
