The enchantress

Derrick (leader of village) POV
It was the end of the year and the enchantress had been seen in many parts of the village. The woman of the village have become afraid for their offsprings well being as well as their lives. We have decided to take the youngest offspring as a peace offering to the witch and hopefully she'll leave us in peace. It was hard to get the mother of the youngest child to cooperate but in the end we had the child. My son and I had taken the child but the thing is, she had the most beautiful features and I'm sure that she had to be the most beautiful child I've ever seen. Her name was Emberlyn and she had green eyes, a pale complexion and hair that matches the same gold you see when the sun sets. She just looked at me and smiled. I said "what a precious child." She had to be around a week old and yet she had already developed so much. I sighed not knowing what the witch would do to her. My son said "don't get attached, she'll be gone soon." I nodded sadly and we entered the middle of the Forrest. I lay Emberlyn on the soft green grass and kissed her forehead. She made grabby hands at me and I sighed letting a tear fall. I said "I'm so sorry babygirl." I said "I'll remember you my angel." My son said "let's go dad." I nodded and noticed that he was crying as well. We walked in silence as we made our way back to the village. We got into the village and the mother was sobbing as her husband held her close letting tears fall as well. Their teenage daughter was just sitting there staring off into space and I felt a wave of guilt find my body. I sighed and kept my head down.

Lauren's POV
I was looking for sage when I heard a soft whine coming from the middle of the Forrest. I stopped my steps and listened to which direction it came in. I listened and realized that it was a child. I started running in the direction in which it came from and saw the most angel like baby I've ever seen. She had the brightest green eyes I've ever seen with pale skin that made them look even brighter. Her hair resembled the golden brown of the sun and I smiled saying "hi baby." She looked at me with teary eyes and I said "where's you're mother princess?" She whimpered and I softly lifted her into my arms. I saw the name Emberlyn on her blanket and said "hi Emberlyn I'm Lauren." I cradled her small body and smiled as she played with my rings. She started babbling and I smiled saying "can you say Lauren baby?" She giggled and I smiled widely. I said "why don't I take you with me? Hmm do you want me to be you're mama?" I smiled as she played with my hair and kissed her nose. She scrunched it up and I smiled. I said "how can a child be so adorable?" She giggled and I smiled. I waved my hand in front of her face and she watched as butterflies appeared and giggled as she watched them in adornment. I smiled and kissed her cheek. I carried her further into the Forrest and once we reached my house I entered and noticed that she had fallen asleep. The cutest thing was that she had her little hand wrapped around my finger. I smiled and whispered "beautiful." I sat in the rocking chair and just softly rocked her back and forth while her blanket covered her small body. I just watched her in her peaceful slumber. After about 30 minuets she began to wake up. I smiled and said "let me see you're beautiful eyes princess." She yawned and I rubbed her stomach. She smiled and looked into my eyes. I said "you hungry baby?" She put her hand on my chest and I smiled. I made her a bottle and once I put it next to her lips she softly latched on. Her soft sucking noises filled the room as I just watched in adornment. I kissed her forehead and said "who would be so cruel to leave you out there baby?" She was so gentle and I was afraid that if I made one wrong move then she would just shatter. She softly played with my rings and I smiled. I got my phone out and called Ally.

Hey Ally it's Lauren, I just needed to talk to you about something.

What is it baby? What happened? Did a spell go wrong?

No Ally um it's just that...I found a child in the woods Allz, and I want to keep her. Do you think it's possible for me to raise her? I mean she's only about a week old do to what it seems and she's so precious and I just want to protect her at any cost.
