(Step 3) The observable phenomenon of ranking up

Sorry for the super long title, but I just really can't find any word to describe it. The system wattpad use to keep tracking of ranking is highly complicated and never really clearly explained. For example, some days I could get 300 views and still drop, yet on other days where I only get 100 views, my ranking sky rockets (0_O)

After closely examine hundred of profiles and keeping track of my own profile for the past 5 months, I have come to a vague grasp of who gets to rank up and who doesn't.

People who rank up the fastest are the ones who has the greatest burst in popularity in the shortest amount of time. This however is not effected by followers, in fact after observing the top 100 books in fantasy, I realise some of them have less then 100 followers, and more then half having less then 1k. And there is a possibility that, less followers, combined with more views might actually result in a higher rank. And more followers but less views in comparison will lead to a lower rank relatively.

Another way to keep ranking up is to update, although daily updates is the best scenario or even multiple updates in a day, since the wattpad updates 24/7. The most realistic situation is that u will most likely end up updating once a week or month. Bi-Daily updates so far seems to be the best option, as there will be what I call the "up and downs". Once I update, the ranking will shoot up for a day, but the next it will drop right back or even further, which I call the down. And on the down day I will update again, and the next day it will be up again.

So try out the Bi-daily update strategy for yourself, and tell me how it went in the comment section :3
