I know you are probably wondering why I didn't do world building or character setting as part 1, but personally when I start writing a book, I don't have the full world set up before I write, rather I start with an abstract world, and slowly feel in the details and settings of the story and the world as I go along and there is a very good reason for that. By doing this, it makes your book flexible in many ways. Say, if you have this massive world building and character roster set up, but when you start writing you will find yourself in a tangent of chaos of what goes where and you very much likely will find yourself with conflicting settings. So to avoid that error, the best way is to simply create the world as the story progress, so when a potential plot hole or setting conflict appears, it will be much more easier to fix, with less compromise and risk of potential plot errors that will screw up the whole story.
