When they're injured

Wonder Woman / Diana :

You hadn't thought this could happen. It may be strange, given the fact that you were in a relationship with a superhero, but Diana was just so exceptional, so talented, that you had never seriously considered the possibility of her being injured. It wasn't much, for sure - bruises, cuts, and one deeper wound on her shoulder - but that wasn't enough to worry you terribly.

She had come back very late that night, and you were asleep. You hadn't given too much thought to how late it was, but the sound had woken you up. You had gone to the bathroom, to discover her bandaging her wounds.

'Oh God. Diana, what happened?'

While talking, you rushed towards her, checking the small scratches on her face and neck. She smiled.

'Don't worry (Y/N), I'll be fine. Tonight was... A bit difficult, that's it.'

You sighed. She didn't look like she was that much in pain, and you knew she was a warrior. She was used to battle. You were not. You caressed her cheek slowly.

'Please be careful.'

She nodded.

'Diana, I'm serious. I don't know what I'd do if you...' You stopped abruptly. You didn't want to name it.

'I can't promise you that will never happen, (Y/N)' she said very seriously. 'But I'm well aware of how much I'm needed out there, and I don't have the intention of dying.'

You felt a twinge of sadness in your heart. You felt selfish for thinking about it, but you wished she would stay alive for you. Not only for you, of course, but just a bit. Still, if she stayed, for whatever reason it may be, you would be happy. So you stayed with her, disinfecting her bruises. You thought you were very lucky for just being by her side.

Batman / Bruce :

Being with Bruce, you had had no choice but to get used to him regularly coming back with new bruises on his body - knife cuts, gashes, injuries, wounds... Of course, it didn't mean you liked it. You didn't, not one bit. But you thought that being the Batman was an important part of him, and you had never tried to convince him to stop doing it. You sometimes wondered whether you should do it or not, but you never brought yourself to do so.

That one night, when Diana brought him home, unconscious, you bitterly regretted it. You were waiting for him in the Batcave, half-asleep, when she had bursted in, carrying Bruce. Weirdly, you had never been jealous of Diana. She was strong, smart, and beautiful, but you thought of her as a warrior first, particularly when she was fighting next to Bruce.

You stood silent, petrified, as she carefully laid him on the couch. She then turned towards you. She herself looked tired, and she was hurt as well.

'(Y/N), I promise, this isn't as bad as it looks. He was hit on the head, hard, and he lost consciousness. He probably also has a broken rib, if not more. Do you want me to go look for Alfred?'

You nodded. She was almost gone when you finally were able to tell her 'Thank you'.

She smiled softly. 'You're welcome.'

While she was gone, you carefully took off Bruce's mask, revealing his face. He opened his eyes while you were covering him with a blanket. He looked terrible.
