When they're jealous

Wonder Woman / Diana :

Diana was not familiar with the feeling of jealousy, not at all, to the point that she nearly didn't recognize it when she felt it. She trusted you, and she didn't feel threatened by the persons who'd try to flirt with you. So when she saw you laughing with Clark, she didn't understand immediately the weird and unpleasant emotion that suddenly filled her heart. She talked to you about it, in a very innocent way, a few hours later.

You frowned. You yourself were quite familiar with the feeling, but you weren't sure. 'Were you jealous?' you asked carefully.

She gave it a bit of thought, and she realized that she honestly didn't know. 'I don't like that. I don't want to be jealous.'

You chuckled. 'Sometimes, our emotions don't listen to us, even if we despise them. Feeling guilty about it won't help you.' You were surprised that she allowed herself to be so vulnerable in front of you, but you knew she would probably try to repress the feeling she thought was wrong, and you didn't want that.

She smiled, still slightly worried. 'You know it has nothing to do with you, right? I trust you.'

A soft feeling, coming from you heart, warmed you up. 'I know, Diana. I do too.'

Batman / Bruce :

Unlike you, Bruce wasn't one to show that he was jealous in public. He was very careful to how he expressed his emotions, and you thought it had to do with the world he had grown up in. A world of appearances, of power games. He couldn't show his weaknesses. Eventually, when you were with him and the League and when Aquaman flirted with you to annoy him, he had a reaction. You knew it showed how at ease he was with the other heroes.

However, when he was jealous, his attitude towards you usually changed in private. He got more passionate, but also somehow shier. As if he was afraid you'd push him away from you, if you had the choice. He was very worried about it in the end. He was quite lucky you could tell when he was jealous, otherwise you could have easily mistaken his attitude for coldness.

Since you could tell, though, you made sure to be always more loving, more tender in those moments. And slowly, he got back to his usual self. You never told him you had noticed, you knew he would have been extremely embarrassed by that. You just kept loving him, and it was just what he needed.

Superman / Clark :

Clark tends to not be aware of the fact that he's jealous. His attitude changes, and he suddenly starts holding you closer from him, putting his arm around your waist or shoulders, particularly in front of other men, but it's not something he's actually conscious of. He just feels the need to do it, and since he has no reason to hold himself back, he does it.

One time, however, that guy at your work was openly flirting with you when Clark came to see you, not reacting to your signals that you weren't interested. Clark walked towards you and pulled you into a loving kiss, one that left you breathless.

'Hi, love,' he said with the warmest voice you had ever heard coming from him. 'Oh, I'm sorry, did I interrupt you?' he then asked, turning his head towards the men as if he hadn't even notice him before. The man mumbled something and left.

'Clark Kent, would you be jealous?' you asked.

'Yes,' he simply answered. 'Also, you shouldn't have to deal with people who can't take a no for a no.'
