Chapter 4: Truth & Consequences

Atticus

As I was following Jaden, Casoria and the others, I was scared of going through the battlefield, mostly because I knew that there is something I've hidden about Nightshroud, my alias that I've had when I was with the Shadow Riders.

Sy looks directly at me, knowing something is wrong. "Atticus, what's up?" 

I smiled at my friend, "It's nothing, Sy. You know... I never seen you stand up to Jaden before . Was it because you're worried about him?"

The young Duelist sighs, "I am worried that he would get himself in trouble. Zane told me before when we were in the Dark Dimension is that to look after Jaden, as Jaden has to look out for me. " 

"So in a way, you two became like brothers?" I ask in pure amazement and curiousty.

He nods, as he looks at Jaden, "Yeah, we have to look out for each other, no matter what." 

I was in total amazement of how determined Syrus was, he clearly changed since we met, not as a Duelist that he was scared of being in his older brother's shadows for so long.

"Syrus, there is something you should know-" I begin to say, but Jaden stops to a stop as if he feels something isn't right.

Casoria looks at Jaden in a serious tone and asks, "Jaden, what is it?"

Jaden

I look at the gym with a concern look . I can tell that an evil presence has been unleashed, mostly from Honest's minions.

Casoria looks at me directly, "Jaden, what is it? Is it something wrong?"

Yubel slides towards me, "Jaden, do you feel the evil presence here? I really despise it." 

I nodded, "Yeah, Yubel, I do. I think it's bad enough I led the others here. It must be a trap." 

The others looked at me, as I know that they are worried. I thought about what Professor Banner had told me, that I kept the secret of sharing my spirit with Yubel, and having these powers within me is something worth sharing.

The thing is... I'm worried of how they would react to it, would they still have me as a friend with these abilities?

"You really have second thoughts, don't you, Jaden Yuki?" A voice ask, interrupting my thoughts.

Casoria steps up with her Duel Disk, "Ok, if you want a duel, you got one. Come on out!"

The evil presence emerges to see it was the same man that I've saved Casoria from!

"You were so close to find the truth, but you didn't have the courage to tell them the truth." He chuckles as Syrus ask me with a curious expression on his face.

"Jaden, what is he talking about?"

Casoria said, "I really don't care who you are, but I am going to duel you right here and now! I'm not afraid of you."

She jumps to the center of the stage as I said, "Casoria, wait! You don't know what you're up against here!"

Man, she was stubborn as I was when I first started as a Freshmen at Duel Academy. I wasn't that selfish... was I?

"How about I summon one my cards? Blackland Fire Dragon! And I activate Polymerization to fuse my spirit with it!"

I was stunned as I watched her combined both of them together as if they done it before.

"Amazing!" Sy said, totally awe of her summoning.

 The dragon unleashes her fire, but the mysterious person laughs, "Typical.

Reign-Boux, use Axe of Despair on that weakling." 

The monster did as commanded as Casoria was hit badly to the ground. 

"Oh, no! Casoria!" Aster gasps in terror as he runs towards the girl. 

I flex my wrists in anger because of what he had done to Casoria.

Syrus

I looked at Jaden's eyes. They seemed unhappy and I see the anger in him.

"Jaden, I know that look anywhere. You do have it, don't you? You have the Supreme King powers!" 

Tyranno said, "But that's impossible! I thought that the Supreme King was gone for good! How does Jaden still have them?"

Jaden sighs, "I thought of keeping this a secret as long I possibly could, but it seems like there is no other choice to reveal it.

Yes, I do have the Supreme King's powers within me, but there is other that you wouldn't believe or that I might thought you wouldn't want me as a friend anymore." 

We exchanged curious looks at Jaden's words. What he meant by that, and does it involve with his actions, like been avoiding us ever since he mysteriously came back to our dimension?

Jaden looks at us in aplologic look, "I know that I've been avoiding all of you lately, and it has been hard for you going through an entire year without me at your side." 

As Jaden was about to face the mysterious villain, the man disappears into cards. 

"You have a lot to deal with, Jaden Yuki. This is only the beginning." 

Aster looks at Casoria with a concern look on his face, "We have to get her to the Hospital Dorm, now!" 

Jaden slowly follows as I ask, "Jad, you coming?" 

The young Duelist looks at the field once more, before responding to my question. "Yeah, I'm coming, bro." 

We put Casoria into a hospital bed, as we look at Jaden directly, with anger in our eyes for what type of secret that he had kept hidden from us.

"Jaden, you better explain how you are still wielding the Supreme King powers, and why you were so distant from us now since you mysteriously arrived back from the Doom Dimension?" Bastion asks. 

Jaden sighs, "I guess it is time for all of you to know the whole truth. Well, how do I start?"

Chazz said, slumping, "How about from the top?" 

He sighs, hoping that it couldn't be more worse than it is.
