I'm in the midst of my long-awaited sleep, when my eyes instantly open to the sound of someone singing. Actually, what I can make out as a group of guys singing.
Don't get me wrong. If I wasn't in the irritable mood that I was unfortunately in, I would have appreciated the singing because frankly, it is pretty... amazing.
"You make me feel so high, I'm so crazy.."
'Just ignore it. Just ignore it. Just ignore it.' I repeat in my head as if this sentence is an incantation that will cast a spell to block out the noise and help me get some rest.
"I'm feeling so energetic.."
"Ugh! That's it!"
I usually am a patient person, who tries to mind their own business, but for some reason all my patience seemed to evaporate off my body and into the air around me. It was something about tonight that made me lose my temper much quicker than I'm used to.
Before I'm able to process why I'm feeling so piqued, I find that I have already made my way up the staircase of my apartment building to the source of the sound in an angry daze.
"I'm feeling good.."
"Wait, when did I get here?" I say scanning my surroundings frantically. I notice the unit number of the door I am in front of and rub my eyes to be able to read out the number 34 which is in the same gold lettering as my own unit number, 24. No wonder I could hear the noise so clearly. The sound was directly above me.
It takes me a minute to contemplate on whether or not I should voice my complaints to my neighbors. 'Maybe I'm overreacting.' I nod my head and get ready to run back down to my own apartment room.
Just as my slipper-covered toes touch the first step on the staircase...
"Burn it up! Ooh!"
I sprint back to room #34 and knock hard on the door. There is an immediate pause in the sound emitting from the room.
Determined to stay put until I speak with my neighbors, I simply continue knocking, feeling as though my wrist could break from the constant action.
Suddenly the door flies open and the momentum causes me to stumble forward and shut my eyes out of fear of the impact of my fall. However, to my surprise, I land in the arms of a complete stranger instead.
"Are you okay?"
Slowly opening my eyes out of embarrassment, I look up at the face of the person who caught me.
The first thing I notice about him are that his eyes seem to sparkle, despite being deep brown. As I continue to stare, I realize how feminine his features are- pale skin, rosy lips, perfectly straight hair- that I find the term 'flower boy' pop into my mind at the sight of him.
My eyes widen at the realization that I'm still being held up by him. I immediately move back and try to remind myself that my incentive for coming here wasn't to gape at my newly found drama-looking character neighbor.
"Uh, thank you for catching me, but I just wanted to ask you if you could keep the noise level down because I've been trying to sleep and all I can hear is noise coming from your room." I say in one breath, eager to leave before I somehow stumble again.
"Jihoon- hyung, what's the matter?" I hear a voice ask from inside the room.
I peer behind Jihoon and notice a group of boys crowding behind him. There is an awkward silence as I squint in an attempt to figure out why flower boy Jihoon and his groupies look so mind-bogglingly familiar.
"Jamkkanmanyo!" I exclaim, pointing a finger at the odd group. "Jihoon? As in, Park Jihoon of Wanna One!?"

Author's Note: Helloo! I feel like it's been a long time since I updated this story, but I swear it's only been a week. 😂 In that time, Wanna One has won a crap ton of awards from MAMA and the Melon Music Awards, which I for one am pretty happy about. Anyway, thanks for reading this chapter and don't forget to add this fanfic to your library to get notifications of when I update! ☺️ ps. This chapter and story are somewhat inspired by the MV of this chapter's song recommendation, so please watch it!
