Ella looked at the further moving away carriage and her heart ached as she knew she wasn't going to see her father for months to come. She wiped away the tears and sniffed slowly as she tried to calm herself. She looked up to see Lady Tremaine smirk slowly at her and then walk inside. Her stepsisters stood their looking awkward and confused. Ella walked towards them and walked passed through them as they observed carefully.

Lady Tremaine heard her enter and called her out in the living room, "Ella, would you mind coming here for a minute?" Ella was to head to her room to be solicited, she didn't want to interact with anyone but, nonetheless she made her way to the living room. Ella didn't show her over the flow emotions as it was because of Lady Tremaine that her father had to leave so early.

No matter how much Ella tried, she kept weeping as she entered the living room. Lady Tremaine saw her emotional self and called her over, "Come here." She said as she engulfed Ella in her arms and hugged her slowly. She patted her back, "Now, now. We have to be strong." Ella still sobbing nodded at her and wiped her nose with handkerchief. After she cleared her throat, Ella spoke, "Thank you, stepmother."

Lady Tremaine looked at her and said, "You mustn't call me that. Madam will do." She smiled softly at her and Ella was shocked at the confusing behaviour but, she nodded her head. "Okay." Ella replied and looked down.

Ella heard her stepsisters arguing in the hallway and her stepmother placed her hand on hers. She heard Drizella talking loudly, "There's no space for my clothes in the wardrobe." Anastasia smacked her hard on her head, "Yes, that's because your clothes are as big as your head."

Ella's eyes widened as she saw Drizella tugged on her Anastasia's head hard and Anastasia screamed. Lady Tremaine cleared her throat as she spoke, "You see, my daughters they have always shared a room and they can be conflicting sometimes." Ella scrunched her face as she thought of the rooms available in their house. Ella turned to look at her stepmother, "The biggest room in the house other than yours and Papa's is mine. They can share it if" Ella didn't get to complete to sentence as Lady Tremaine clapped her hands together excitedly and spoke, "Wonderful! That's so kind of you to do."

"Meanwhile, I can take the attic-" Ella started off but was cut short by Lady Tremaine, "Yes, the attic! It's perfect for you. It's big and nice." Lady Tremaine stood up, causing Ella to stand up. Lady Tremaine walked over to the table and picked up Ella's sewing materials, Ella followed suit as she didn't want her to damage them. She immediately took it from her hands and looked over to see anything missing.

"Take this with you, too." Lady Tremaine said as she clasped her hands together and smiled at her seemingly. Ella found in odd but, ignored the lingering feeling of hatefulness as she walked out of the living room; her sewing work in hands.

She reached the door leading to the attic and pushed it open with the help of her shoulders. The attic's door opened to reveal an air full of dust and cold. Ella coughed a little as the sudden intake of dust didn't help her breathing. She looked over to see a huge span of dust all over the attic. The spider webs all over the furniture sitting there, "This will take a while." She spoke as she placed the box of sewing materials on the floor and tightened the hair band around her head.

Ella started off first by placing the standing bed neatly on the ground and covered her nose as the dust spread all over the attic due to the placing of the bed. She covered it by using a rug she found in the attic and smiled at her attempt to make attic seemingly better.

She grabbed a broomstick as she swept the dust off the floor and jumped a little as she heard some noises coming over from the table covered in the corner. She walked over slowly, not making any noise as she didn't want to scare them away. She slowly picked up the cloth and almost screamed as she saw Jaq and Gus eating cheese along with other mice on a small pot turned over to serve as a table. Gus looked startled at her sudden appearance and lost his balance as he jumped backwards. But, Ella caught him in time and placed him back on the table, "There, there Gus." She smiled at their small table and patted their heads.
