Kit's POV

The next day, I was certain that Ming won't bother me anymore. After I told him off yesterday.

Somehow, it saddened me. Something inside me is hoping he will suddenly appear and pester me.

No way.

I went on with my typical day, I want to forget what happened.

"You and Ming are dating? " casually asked by Ice.

They were together in the computer lab because they have to finalize their draft.

"What?! " I almost choke. "Of course not, " I disagreed.

"Is he courting you? "

"No, " I chuckled. "Why would he? He likes girls."

"You like him? " he added.

"Why do you ask that? " I inquired.

"Just because, " he said.

I didn't reply.

"So you like him? " still soliciting for an answer.

"He's a manwhore. " I said.

"That doesn't answer my question, " he implied. I could hear a sadness in his voice.

"I don't like him, " I barely said. Lie, a voice inside me.

I don't really like him. I hate his guts. I kept convincing myself.

He looked at me trying to see if I was telling the truth. I saw his face glowed and continued to what he was doing after a while.

"Ahm, do you want to eat lunch together? " he questioned. We were done for now and putting things back.

"I usually eat with Pha and Beam, " I told him. "but maybe for a change, sure. " he beamed.

I texted Pha to not wait for me.

Ice brought me to a restaurant nearby the university. We used to go and eat in the restaurant with Beam and Pha but due to our busy schedules we opted to go to the university's cafeteria.

My heart skipped a beat when I went in the restaurant and saw a familiar figure.

Ming.

He couldn't see me because he wasn't facing the entrance.

He was with a girl, she was all smiles at him.

She was very simple but pretty.

She is the type a moon should have.

I sighed. Why am I even contemplating about it?

Ming seemed to be having a good time with her because he smiled and joked around with her from time to time.

After yesterday, I didn't want to bumped into him anymore but I couldn't deny the fact that I was happy to see him.

I wanted to go to another place but Ice was already seated to one of the table.

I didn't want to impose him anymore, he might be hungry. I sat on the chair opposite to Ice.

In my line of view, I could clearly steal a glance at him.

"so what do you want to eat? " Iced asked after some time. He was checking the menu.

"Just get me whatever you're having, " I told him. Eyes still on the person at the far back of him.

They were now talking seriously. As they moved closer, the girl's hand landed on top of Ming's hand.

He was looking at her intently. He was all ears to what she had to say.

I sighed.

"Third, " I heard Ice murmured. He was done ordering and now looking at me.

I furrowed my brow.

"That was the third time you sighed deeply. " he said.

"Did I? " surprised as he was a keen observer. I didn't even realized it myself.

He just smiled.

Our food arrived and we proceeded in eating.

At the corner of my eye, I saw them stood up and getting ready to leave.

Ming helped her with her belongings and took the book the woman was holding then they headed out. I followed them with a glance until they were out of sight.

There was a smile on his face while leading her the way.

So I assumed she's the current girlfriend.

She was gorgeous and so was he.

They were perfect for each other.

I wonder why does he act like he was hitting on me.

You are overthinking everything.

You are just nothing but his pastime.

If you are not going to hold your shit together you'll have your heart broken by him, I thought.

It pained me.

It pained me that no matter how much I deny it, he had taken up residence in my mind and traveled down to my heart.

It pained me to think that he was just playing around.

Well, what do I expect?

I need to get away from him, the farther the better.

"Are you good at math? " out of the blue asked by Ice.

I was confused. Were we talking about math and I wasn't paying attention?

I felt guilty. "Hmm, why? "

"Just asking, " he shrugged. He took his glass of soda and drank a gulp.

"Ahm, not that bad. "

I am average at Math. I am neither good nor bad at it. With proper explanation, I can do just fine.

He took a piece of tissue and got something on his bag --- it was a pen.

He wrote something on the tissue. I was just watching him the whole time. When he was done, he pushed the paper towards me.

"Let just see if you can help me with this equation, " he said. He looked so serious so it was maybe part of his homeworks.

I took and lifted to read it. "Don't get your hopes up though. " I chuckled. I opened the paper,

I grinned from ear to ear and shake my head.

"Wow, you got it." he said jokingly. "Impressive, you're not only good looking but also smart. " he joked and deliberately exaggerating.

I crumpled the tissue and threw it at him. "Crazy, "

I laughed hard afterwards.

He did as well.

"You look way better whenever you smile," he said seriously after he recovered.

"I know right, " I said. I felt awkward in the way he stared.

"Our guy here is too humble, " he snickered.

I spread my arms and bowed. "Thank you, "

They laughed in sync.

He was really good to be around. He was very sensitive to other people's feelings.

With him, you won't have to worry about anything. You can be yourself. He was always considerate. He can always come up with something to make you smile.

Whoever who can make him fall is very lucky.

He is for keeps.

I looked at him and he looked back. I gave him a grateful smile.

I'm falling for Ice. Kit can keep Ming and I get to keep Ice. Hehe
