Sorry for the late update,  I was feeling a little under the weather lately.  Anyway, THE DATE.

Kit's POV

"Ming?! " I said still disoriented.

I turned to the waiter. "I guess, you led me to the wrong table, "

"He did not, " Ming butt in. I gave him a side glance.

"I'll now take my leave, " the waiter said. "Just call me whenever you need anything, " he politely exused himself.

What should I do?

"Ping must have sent me the wrong table reservation number. " I said and about to leave.

"He didn't, " I halted.

"What do you mean? "

"It is what you see, " he said cheerfully.

"Stop beating around the bush Ming, " I sounded irritated. I don't know what was hapenning.

"I am your date, " he spread his arms. "You are lucky, everyone wants to date me. " and bowed.

"Yeah,  right" I said nockingly. "And what about Chimlin? " I asked. I was expecting to see her.

"Long story.. " he said. He sounded tired. "I just told you I like you, do you honestly think I'll let you date someone else? " he asked.

It may be casual for him to say he likes me but he really doesn't know how those words affected me.

"After what you did, yes, " I whispered before I could stop myself. I did not mean it to be heard by him.

"Are you mad?" he asked seriously.

Yes,  I am very mad. I expected you to but.. "Why would I be? " I said instead.

"Because I disappointed you? "

Since when did you care about my feelings?

"You should matter first before you get to disappoint me, " I made it sound like I don't care. "You don't,"

He smiled. He stood up and pulled the chair opposite to his. "Sit, "

"Can you please stop ordering me around? " I said before sitting.

He whined. "You follow them anyway, "

I rolled my eyes. "Look, I want this to be clear. I am not leaving because I like this but because I am doing my part of the bargain. " I explained. "And you don't have to pull the chair for me because I am capable of doing it by myself. "

Before he could speak, "Moreover,  don't use your charm on me. It will not work. You hear me? " I spoke real quick to hide my nervousness inside.

"If you say so, " he mocked. "Are you done? "

I sneered at him. "Not yet, "

He rolled his eyes this time. "Go on, "

"How did this happen? "

He went back to his chair. "Well, being the moon has its perks? " he grinned from ear to ear.

I was speechless.

"Let's order? " he skimmed through the menu. "What do you want? "

"I'm having whatever you're having, " I acted disinterested.

"Sorry you can't Kitty, "

I creased my brow.

"Because I want to have you, " he teased.

I blushed. "Can you please order now? " I said, forming a thin line on my lips so I could hide my smile. "Let's get this over with, "

"Do you really want to get away from me that much? " he asked. There was sadness in his tone.

I did not answer.

He called the waiter and took our order.

I heard him sighed after the waiter left.

I did not dare to look at him.

There was an awkward silence.

"Kit, do you dislike me? " he asked in a forlorn tone.

I did not answer. There was a long silence.

"Have you done something for me to like you? " I inquired.

He looked down. "I just want to get your attention, " he said earnestly.

It took me long to build the walls around my heart yet with just one sentence from him, it was slowly crumbling.

He was still looking down.

The waiter arrived.

He placed our order on the table.

Ming didn't speak but he was very attentive to my needs.

He passed me the spoon and chopstick which I took at once.

When I almost choke,  he was quick on giving me a glass of water.

He surely knows his ways on how to treat someone well. I admit I am starting to give in but no.

Not yet.  A voice in the back of my mind.

Not ever. I reminded myself.

I stole a glance at him. He looked tormented.

I felt pity for him. "What happened to 'I can change that' and 'my like is enough for the both of us'?" I repeated what he said yesterday to ease myself from feeling guilty.

He was still quiet. "You were so confident then, " I mocked him.

"You are very difficult," he admitted. "I am not used to this. I was chased but I never have to chase anybody, "

"Then you can stop now, " I challenged him.

"I never gave up on anything neither, "
I was glad to hear it.

Satisfied with what he said,  I leaned my back on the chair and went on eating.

After we were done,  we stayed quiet.

"Let's have a cup of coffee before we leave, " he asked breaking the silence.

I just nodded, "Cafe latte for me, "

"Okay, " he signalled the waiter to come and ordered.

They didn't wait for long.

The waiter arrived with the coffee.

I can smell it.

Coffee is life. It made me smile.

"You're not having one? " he ordered a tea for himself.

"I don't like anything bitter, "

"Are you a child? " I exclaimed. "Then why did you ask for us to have coffee? "
"It is the only way to prolong this time with you, "

I took a sip on my cup to hide my smile.

It was foamy and I like it that way.

Ming was looking at me intently the whole time.

"You have something on your face. " he said.

I quickly wipe it with the table napkin.

He looked not satisfied with what I did.

He stood up.

He crouched till our face were inches away.

I wanted to look away but I froze. My heart was pounding really hard.

While looking at me, he went closer and closer.

I felt numb when his lips touched mine.

Time stood still for what seemed like forever.

It struck me --- Ming kissed me.
