Kit's POV

Friday, it was the charity date auction day.

I was very nervous since last night. I couldn't fall asleep. I probably looked awful.

The list of candidates were posted outside the auditorium so I felt like people were checking me out. Or probably just my imagination.

I found that the girl Ming was with in the restaurant the other day was also one to be auctioned.

She's Prae, her name sounds familiar.

I saw her picture, she was pretty and cute at the same time. She looked nice and genuine.

I didn't know Ming would go for a goody type of girls.

I think whoever's wearing a skirt, he would give it a go. He was Ming after all.

Something inside me was hoping otherwise.

On the other hand, today is the third day that I haven't seen Ming. I am glad, I wanna believe I am truly glad about it.

But who am I fooling?

I miss him. I admitted.

I wish he would show up and pester me but I didn't hear anything from him since that day.

I guess, he was just doing what I wanted.

Kit, even if he showed up and pestered you. You can't still change the fact that he will hurt you. He is a player and you are just one of his games.

I tried to console myself and sugarcoat what loneliness I was feeling inside.

This is for the better. The farther he stayed, the better for me. I chanted.

Beam texted and it interrupted me from my train of thoughts.

"Why aren't you answering my call? " he said.

"Sorry, I must have misplaced my phone and I couldn't find it. " I smiled at my own joke.

"Okay, " he replied, going with the flow. "Find it yet? " he asked.

"No," I said smiling.

"Let me know when you find it, "

"Okay, I'll call you. " I texted him.

"KIIITTT!!! Misplaced your phone, my ass. " he called after receiving my last text. "Show your face up here, now. "

Pha and Beam went to his room last night and accidentally left their projects due this afternoon so as a result they asked me to come early to bring it for them.

I have no classes today because I was excused by the student council committee in preparation for the event tonight.

"I'm on my way, stop shouting. " I said.

I heard him laughed. "Tell him to buy us some milk tea, Yo is coming and I'm sure he is thirsty. " I heard Pha.

"Pha sai-" 

"I heard him and tell him I said 'no'," I cut Beam off.

I dropped by the cafeteria to buy them their milk tea. They knew that most of the time my words were contrary to my actions. I snickered at the thought.

On my way out, I bumped into Ice.

"Hey, I thought I won't be seeing you until tonight. " he said. He told me he will be at the event later because he will bid for me which I just shrugged off.

He seemed genuinely surprised and delighted at the same time.

"I was supposed to stay in my room but I had to do some errands for my friends. " I showed him the milk teas and the envelopes I was holding.

He noticed that I was having a hard time holding them altogether so he reached his hand to me for help.

"Let me help you, "

"Thanks, but aren't you eating? " I asked. I was still reluctant to give them to him. I don't want to bother him in any way.

"No,  I was on my way out too. " he said eagerly.

"If you say so, " I said because I really need some help. I handed him some of the things I was holding when someone grabbed it halfway through.

I looked at the man who did, I was stunned to see Ming standing there holding the milk tea.

I didn't know how much I miss him until I saw him. My heart felt like it is going to explode.

He looked pissed and at the same time there were some emotion I couldn't seem to explain.

"Pha told me to fetch you here, " he said. There was an anger on his tone.

He took the envelopes in my hand too and put them all on his right hand then his left hand held my hand. He almost dragged me along with him.

I was so fazed that I could only managed to look at Ice with an apologetic expression which the latter just nodded.

Some people were looking at us especially on our hands clasped together while walking.

I could hear gasped and shocked sounds as we went along our way.

"Stop, " I said after I recovered. We were already in the hallway out of everybody's earshot.

He didn't seem to hear it so I repeated.

"Stop, " this time louder than earlier. I was elated to see him.

He halted and let go of my hands, when he did I felt like I was empty. I wanted to hold it back but I restrained myself.

I looked up at him. I wanted to yell to cover up everything I was feeling inside but it felt like I had a huge lump on my throat that prevented me from speaking.

We stayed quiet for a while.

"Are you dating  Ice? " he asked seriously,  breaking the silence.

"It is none if your business, " I said softly, it was all I could mustered with all the emotions inside of me.

"Are you dating Ice? " he repeated this time with so much anger.

Who was he to ask if I was dating Ice?

Who was he to ask me questions like this,  like he was giving me hope?

Does he have the right to question me?

"And if I am dating him? " I needed to know so I courageously asked.

"Break up with him, " he demanded.

I raised my brow. "You have your Prae and I can't have Ice? " shit. That sounded so wrong.

I sounded jealous and I don't want him to have ideas. I kept on blaming myself for what I just said.

He smiled mischieviously.

"You are jealous, " he said.

"Why would I be jealous? " I challenged to recover from my words earlier.

I saw his lips twitched. Was he pleased? 

No,  it meant that you were caught playing his game and there's no turning back.

He looked straight into my eyes. I looked away but he held my chin and directed me where he could clearly see me --- our eyes met.

"Because you like me." he said a matter-of-factly. "And I like you too, " he said and left me dumbfounded.
