I woke up next to brad who was still fast asleep. I slowly turned around to face brad, I gently rubbed his face. Suddenly I heard jay start crying, I gently but quickly climb out of my warm, cozy bed and tiptoe towards jay's room. I opened the door to see him crying his eyes out, I walk towards him, once I had reached him I sat him on my lap and cuddled him. I rubbed his back and occasionally gave him a kiss on the side of the head.
"Jay what's the matter" I say wiping away his tears, he opened his mouth but nothing came out. I waited until he finally managed to speak.
"I....I had a.....nightmare" he said, he began crying again so I cuddled him once again.
"Shhhhh shhhhhh" I say, attempting to calm him down. After about 5 minutes he began to calm down, I heard his door open again. I looked up to see brad who looked exhausted but concerned at the same time.
"What's the matter with Jay" Brad asks me, Jay looks at brad and then at me.
"He has a nightmare" I reply giving brad a weak smile, he instantly walked towards Myself and Jay and hugged the two of us.
"Are you okay little man" brad asks Jay.
"Yeah thanks mummy, thanks daddy" he said with a happier voice.
"Okay Jay kisses for mummy" I say, Hay quickly gives me a kiss and I give him one more hug and I tuck him back in his bed. Brad gives him a hug and walks towards the door and I follow soon after. As brad and I walk towards the door I turn back and wave at Jay and blow him a kiss, he smiles and begins to drift off to sleep.
"Night night sweetheart" I say and I close the door and brad and I walk towards our room. I close our door and I climb back into my bed with brad wrapping his arms around me, making me feel safe.
"Lindsey your such a good mum" Brad whispers, giving me a kiss on the forehead.
"We both are, I'm so proud to say your their dad" I reply, I could tell he was smiling. I finally rested my head on his chest and we both drifted back to sleep.
