A deadly game

I was holding Gordon and Jay in my arms, I tried to keep my cool but I think they could tell I was stressed and frightened. The boys had finally falling asleep but I was on high alert like brad said just In case the men he was talking about came back to the house looking for the boys and I.
Door creaking

"Shit" I say pushing the boys off me and hide them in the corner were the secret door is and I shook them slightly waking them up.
"Sweetie mummy is going upstairs for a minute don't move until I say so" I explained, they stuck together and I hesitantly tiptoe upstairs, I open the door slowly seeing the front door is open. I walk towards the living room slowly and I quietly run to brads desk, I grabbed the gun inside the drawer and began walking through the house to the kitchen. I walk slowly towards the entrance to the kitchen noticing someone looking around, I wasn't sure who it was but I knew he was looking for me and the boys. I breathe quietly and quickly turn around the corner and pull the trigger, I kept my eyes tightly shut but I knew he was now dead. I slowly open my eyes and see the man on the ground bleeding out, I had shot him in the chest and from the looks of things he had died almost instantly. I quickly run to the boys and see they were crying, they had clearly heard the gunshot.
"Mummy" they say in unison, I quickly shut the door and locked it, I ran to the boys.
"Are you boys okay" I ask receiving a nod from both. I quickly turn around hearing other men talking upstairs.
"For fuck sake she killed Pete" one of them said. I was so frightened so I did the one thing I thought would keep me and the boys safe.
"Come on boys" I say opening the secret door, I close it slowly holding the bags we were keeping our food and water in and all three of us dashed down the passage. We continued walking for what felt like forever but I knew the men wouldn't find us or even if they did we would be long gone. I knew this was now becoming a wild game of cat and mouse just with the most sinister and deadly twist. I knew we needed to find brad more than ever. I continue walking with these thoughts in my mind until Gordon tugs at my jacket.
"Mummy look daddy left us something" Gordon says holding a letter and car keys and a map to a location. I then noticed a laptop that I had never seen before.

"Hi Lindsey, by the time you find this you are running from the men, I have left you a map, car keys that I left for you in the forest that's what the maps for and a letter which has the address I am currently at, drive to that location and I will be waiting for you, and Lindsey for what it's worth I'm sorry about all this but I promise it will be over soon, tell the boys I love them and I will see them soon. I love you Lindsey see you soon" brad finished and the video ends, I was crying by this point but now it was clear to me, I was determined to find this car brad had left me with the map and I would drive the boys and I to the address and brad would keep all of us safe. But I know it wasn't going to be as easy as that but all I need is hope so me and the boys are going to push on, however not just to the end of the secret passage but to the very end until we are back with brad!
