Chapter 8

A few days later.

Dove's POV

It's Tuesday and today we're meeting Ryan's dad for lunch. I don't know why Conn wants to get lunch so badly, but I'm glad he does. People change right? I don't know.

"Chloe." Ryan says snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah?" I ask and look over at him. He looks at me worried.

"I've said your name 3 times. Are you ok?" He asks me and comes closer as I'm sitting on our bed and he was doing whatever.

"Yeah. Sorry just thinking." I say.

"Oh about what?" He asks sitting beside me.

"Lunch." I reply.

"Want me to cancel?" He asks pulling out his phone.

"Ry no." I laugh a little and shake my head. I lay my head on his shoulder and he kisses the top of my head.

A few hours later

We finally got around and just arrived at the restaurant that we're meeting Ryan's dad at. I'm wearing skinny jeans and a cute t-shirt but Ryan's sweatshirt over it because it's chilly outside and I'm still a little big. Ryan's dad told Ryan he already had a table so we walked in and found him. We decided to leave Ashton with my mom because he's too young to be out in public yet. He's not even 2 weeks old yet so I decided to play it safe.

"Hello guys!" Conn says as we walk over to them.

"Hi." I reply and Ryan nods. I mentally roll my eyes and Ryan and I sit down across from him.

"Where's the little one?" He asks.

"At home with my mom. He's too young to be out here." I explain making him nod. Ryan watches him closely, looking for a reason to say he was rude and say we have to leave.

Conn's POV

This is going perfect. My plan is working. Brandon will get what I want and so will I. That women is going to pay for ruining my family. Sucks for Ryan that he has to be caught up in the middle of this, but he hates me anyways so might as well get what I want out of him. That kid is rich as hell, but it's not me who wants the money. I just need to get close enough to him that he tells me his bank account number and security code and everything will be perfect.
